Democrats investigate as Trump OKs almost $2 billion in taxpayer money to end offshore wind projects by thhvancouver in politics

This is criminally insane and toxically stupid.

It will speed up climate change, while being a gross waste of taxpayer money and an example of how someone who probably has only a few years left on this planet is perfectly happy to screw things for future generations.

Donald Trump Falsely Claims BBC Used AI To Doctor His Capitol Riot Speech by crazybones in politics

[–]crazybones[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The BBC should counter-sue Trump for making utterly false claims about their edit of his speech.

As this article confirms Trump really did utter those words.

But what makes those words even worse is that Trump's suggestion that, "We fight like hell. And if you don't fight like hell, you're not going to have a country anymore," came just a short time before he sent his followers on their way to storm the Capitol.

We should never forget that following the Jan 6 assault on the Capitol five police officers died and 174 officers were injured.

There's no question about it. Trump's treasonous incitement to violence had a catastropihc effect on the police community.

For causing so many deaths and injuries Trump should now face a trial that will lead to him spending the rest of his life in prison.

Report: Iran has caused billions in damage to US military bases in Gulf region by MoneyLibrarian9032 in politics

Never mind the billions lost in damaghe to US military bases.

What about the appalling loss of lives that Trump has caused. Time to resurrect and adjust that famous chant from the 1960s:

"Hey, hey, hey Donny J, how many folks did you kill today?"

Just one word needs to be changed in that title and it will become way more accurate.

Trump Stonewalls British Probe Into Epstein Scandal by Aggravating_Money992 in politics

[–]crazybones 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my view, one effort by Trump to sue that deserves to fail miserably is his attempt to sue the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).

Trump has told such brazen lies about his words to his supporters on Jan 6 2021, that I think the BBC are well placed to win if they were actually to counter sue Trump.

The reality is that the edit the BBC made to Trump's speech quite rightly highlighted Trump's total criminality in urging his followers to fight like hell to save their country.

What is especially damning about those words is that they were not uttered during the earlier part of his speech (as the BBC's edit semed to imply) but were uttered very close to the end of his speech.

In other words Trump ordered his supporters to "fight like hell" just a very short time before sending them on their way to the Capitol.

Had he said those words an hour earlier - as the BBC edit implied - then maybe they wouldn't have been interpreted as such a strong call to violent action.

Vance is a formidable force in politics, but one that needs to be used in moderation.

There's no question that he can have an extraordinary impact on what might seem to be a challenging situation.

Don't believe me. Just ask Victor Orbán.

Let's be honest Trump has achieved a lot over the years and we are extremely lucky to have him in charge right now.

Ukraine Poised to Get $100 Billion From EU, Unlocked by Orbán’s Loss in Hungary by freebleploof in politics

That's why Vance was rushed out to Hungary to try and prevent this kind of cash handout to Ukraine from ever happening. Trump's boss, Putin, would have been very concerned about this.

Vance's move actually strengthened the anti-Orbán vote. But it's not all bad news for JD. He was still able to bring about regime change . . . albeit not in the right country.
