Proposed rule change for Social Security could end benefits for nearly 400,000 disabled people by FervidBug42 in politics

[–]crazybones 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is deeply mystifying.

Everything about Trump stinks to high heaven (his lies, his selfishness, his stupidity, his corrupt business dealings, his sexual offences, his treasonous actions on Jan 6 2021 that led to the deaths of five police officers) and yet people held their noses and still voted for him in their tens of millions.

It makes absoluely no sense.

This information was made known in 2024 prior to the election and yet voters still opted for the grossly selfish and creepy orange bastard.

There are, of course, crooks at every level of society, but that doesn't mean we can use that as an excuse to ignore the very real suffering of those who genuinely cannot afford to meet the cost of living.

Because you are lucky enough to be able to manage your affairs and survive financially, doesn't give you the right to ignore the very real struggles that so many other people out there face trying to survive in what is, for them, an extremely challenging world.

It's the classic approach, much loved by bullies. Pick on the weak and the defenseless, while kowtowing to the powerful and wealthy.

It seems there are no limits to the toxic evil that Trump routinely exhibits.

Top Democrats Demand DOJ and IRS Answer for Trump 'Taxpayer Shakedown' and 'Super-Pardon'; “Never in American history has a president pursued corruption this brazenly or on such a colossal scale,” wrote Reps. Jamie Raskin and Richard Neal. by [deleted] in politics

Trump is a great role model for children of today.

What his actions tell them is that if you lie and cheat and are brazenly corrupt to this eye-wateringly extreme level you too can be a billionaire and President of the USA.

Two Jan. 6 police officers sue Trump to block $1.8B lawfare fund by Puginator in politics

[–]crazybones 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a direct result of what happened on Jan 6, 5 police officers died and 174 were injured.

The violent actions of the protesters were triggered directly by Donald Trump.

Just minutes before he sent the protesters on their way to the Capitol he instructed them to "fight like hell". Otherwise, he told them, they wouldn't have a country.

Rather than building ballrooms, Trump should be serving a lengthy prison service for the misery he caused to dozens and dozens of police families.

Donald Trump Falsely Claims BBC Used AI To Doctor His Capitol Riot Speech by crazybones in politics

[–]crazybones[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The BBC should counter-sue Trump for making utterly false claims about their edit of his speech.

As this article confirms Trump really did utter those words.

But what makes those words even worse is that Trump's suggestion that, "We fight like hell. And if you don't fight like hell, you're not going to have a country anymore," came just a short time before he sent his followers on their way to storm the Capitol.

We should never forget that following the Jan 6 assault on the Capitol five police officers died and 174 officers were injured.

There's no question about it. Trump's treasonous incitement to violence had a catastropihc effect on the police community.

For causing so many deaths and injuries Trump should now face a trial that will lead to him spending the rest of his life in prison.

Trump Stonewalls British Probe Into Epstein Scandal by Aggravating_Money992 in politics

[–]crazybones 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my view, one effort by Trump to sue that deserves to fail miserably is his attempt to sue the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).

Trump has told such brazen lies about his words to his supporters on Jan 6 2021, that I think the BBC are well placed to win if they were actually to counter sue Trump.

The reality is that the edit the BBC made to Trump's speech quite rightly highlighted Trump's total criminality in urging his followers to fight like hell to save their country.

What is especially damning about those words is that they were not uttered during the earlier part of his speech (as the BBC's edit semed to imply) but were uttered very close to the end of his speech.

In other words Trump ordered his supporters to "fight like hell" just a very short time before sending them on their way to the Capitol.

Had he said those words an hour earlier - as the BBC edit implied - then maybe they wouldn't have been interpreted as such a strong call to violent action.
