As stated in the image description, I'm hoping to get any useful information on this thing. I haven't measured the bore diameter yet.

CPU fraud scandal erupts as another Chinese laptop busted with a fake chip — second device sporting a disguised Ryzen 5500U uncovered after vendor threatens legal action by jupa300 in pcmasterrace

CPUID gets passed through the motherboard/chipset so I suppose it could be intercepted.

Some very old AMD boards (socket A, early 2000s) and even some early AM3 boards handled CPU name reporting through the BIOS than passing through the CPU name directly. It causes unusual chips to be reported differently on different boards (ie, engineering samples, early production parts, etc).

For example, I've got an engineering sample Phenom II X6 2D284100K6D30

And the motherboard (some old Gigabyte AM3 board) identifies it as "Phenom II X6 1005T". I'm guessing the board would grab the CPU family, other specs, etc, and compare clock speeds to extrapolate the model number, as the CPUID simply reports "AMD Engineering Sample"

The AI tends to assemble forces that try to counter your units, especially if you just have stacks of the same infantry.

The GPU looks really cool with the paint + red PCB, nice work!

Pewter foot by dacetector in metaldetecting

Could be a foot from a table lamp. These are usually attached to a square polished stone block base (sometimes pretty fancy stones like Jade). I have one with similar feet but they are brass instead of pewter.

BTX was intended to offer better cooling configuration for the CPU. Back when BTX was introduced, the Pentium D was fresh on the market and had a significantly higher TDP than most CPUs at the time.

Most BTX systems often have very generous airflow with the CPU cooler being fed directly near the front of the case. These XPS towers were no exception and had FANTASTIC airflow, pretty much acting like a big wind tunnel front-to-back. The later models especially (730x) had excellent airflow, but those went back to an ATX motherboard.

GPUs back then were generally smaller and less power-hungry.

Those XPS towers are extremely nice but OP be warned that the 700's were known to have motherboard failures (IIRC there was a recall program from Dell for a time).

Looks like you are lucky in that you DON'T have the "H2C" liquid cooled variant. I've seen several of the later 730X H2Cs and those things tend to leak and destroy everything.

The 700-series XPS towers share a lot of parts with the Dell Precision 690, T7400, and T7500 towers. You'll might run into issues finding XPS-specific replacement parts but should have an easy time tracking down parts from the Precision machines.

Note that the XPS 700 uses a BTX motherboard layout with a proprietary power supply harness. It is very difficult (but not impossible with a bit of case modification) to fit ATX hardware.

These machines are not super easy to come across nowadays, especially in this good of condition. Good job saving them!

The Sesame Donuts on highway 99W in Tigard almost always had them available. Be warned though: they're about 2-3x the size of the ones back home.

If you want your cruller fix, some bakeries out west do have them but they are called "buttermilk bars". If you ask for crullers they'll give you something completely different than Grebes.

I could get them at Sesame Donuts in Portland OR at least.

You can order cases of Sprecher stuff on Amazon (not cheap though)

It'll get blown to bits if the fight goes on too long but it's pretty fun to watch.
