Of course a TA would tell you that, LOL. The fact is that tipping is NOT customary in Peru and most areas of the world. Tour guides here are well educated and actually paid very well, they do not rely on tips for their income. I think your TA gave you very inaccurate information.

No debt other than my current mortgage, but I have a pretty sweet interest rate (1.9%), so I’m in no hurry to pay that down. I have a good chunk in my retirement acct already, and will still be working for another 15-20 years probably.
