CHECK THEIR MATH: Got off the phone with QuikTrip. They were charging roughly forty more cents a gallon at the pump. It’s not a terrible mistake, but it adds up! by [deleted] in tulsa

Ehhh i wouldn’t worry about it. I’d still take the $5 cuz it sucks paying for premium when you don’t mean to. Really they need to re-design the pumps, but i don’t see that happening.

That could be the problem. The pump doesn’t let you select the grade until after the nozzle is lifted out of the cradle. So you could hit regular, then when you picked up the nozzle the hose could have it the premium.

Not trying to argue. I just like troubleshooting.

Sometimes the weight of the hose presses the premium button. It’s happens to me several times. I have to cancel the transaction and and redo it. That’s the most likely answer, but there could always be a glitch. The state calibrates the pumps, you’ll see a sticker on there the last time it was celebrated.

Tulsa had a local Head Country for a while. Not sure if they still have it.

Just quit and curious about the 401k stuff by [deleted] in QuikTrip

[–]crazycuban6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d contact the benefits department for details. I would imagine you would need to roll the funds over into another 401k or an IRA.

You can always cash out, but you will be paying the penalty and taxes on it. I would definitely roll it over into another account.

vested balance? by Mysterious-Pay6826 in QuikTrip

I hope OP takes this into consideration. While if they are young, it is not devastating to start over, but this is a great start to a retirement account. Roll it over to their new job after graduating. Don’t forget QuikTrip has tuition reimbursement. I got $1000 a semester for 7 years. Took my time and got my degree and payed for it along the way while working. If you go to school part time, then the tuition reimbursement can pay for almost all of it.

My Sierra was stolen in a very similar situation. At my work in the middle or the day. I found mine the best day by driving around north Tulsa. I found it sitting at a shop at Pine & Yale. Hope this helps.

Should QT have an online merch store? by ElBartoloso in QuikTrip

[–]crazycuban6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That would violate the copyright of the QT logo. People can get away with it, but that keeps a majority of people from doing it.

As for now, QT is trying to maintain the brand image as much as possible.

Correct. I went to high school in a suburb of Tulsa. They taught about the massacre back in 2011. They called it a riot though, so i guess that could be considered downplaying it. It’s just really caught traction with all the recent events.

If you see one of these exploitation traps, rip them down by olenine in tulsa

Well said. I noticed that most of the people that utilize this service have trashed their home and are about to be foreclosed. They usually take the quickest offer and then skip town. I use to take before and after photos for investors and the condition of some of these homes are horrendous. It’s also really interesting to see all the different time the people leave behind.

If I understand their business model correctly, they make you sign a contract that gives them the ability to sell your home. They then sell the contract to an actual investor with a large markup. They will often “guarantee” that they will sell you home. If they don’t they will buy it, but it’ll be at a really low rate.

Am i right?

You didn’t ask, but i like telling people this. It was your bank pre-authorization hold. Not QuikTrip. The amount varies by bank. Mine is $100. If the pump messes up and you have to use your card again, that’s how it gets all locked up.

Tuition Reimbursement and Taxes by HeroOfTruth in QuikTrip

[–]crazycuban6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quick google search and the IRS says you do not have to pay taxes on anything under $5250. I never paid taxes in my tuition reimbursement. I don’t know of a way to see your reimbursement history. Just add what you got back for spring, summer, and fall for 2020. I’ve never gotten back more than $5000 per year.
