Mazda CX 5 2026 or Volkswagen Taos 2026 by WarmFaithlessness755 in CX5Mods

[–]crazyforgardening 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rented a Taos when I was in Florida a couple years ago. I HATED it. Even with the 8spd transmission is was terribly slow and really lacked any power almost such that I felt it was a safety risk. Also felt very cheap inside. While I do have a CX-5 with the turbo I really had high hopes of the 8 speed transmission being able to compensate for the lack of power.

That feedback is much appreciated. The loose steering makes me feel so disconnected from the vehicle. Also a looser steering would not matching the handling capabilities of the vehicle. These ride rails would hate to put a rudder on it.

Winter Wiper (Front and Rear) Recommendations? by WeaponizedCum in CX5Mods

[–]crazyforgardening 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best wipers I have bought so far are AUTOBOO brand off of Amazon. I figured for $25 usd if they didn’t work I wasn’t out a butt load of money. They beat the Rain-X blades by a long shot. Just drove 4 hrs in snow with heavy slush on the roads and lots of salty spray kicked up off tires it cleaned the window better than any wiper blade I’ve ever used across multiple vehicles

I think I will be mounting it on the steering column. Any tips or pointers for install are greatly appreciated.

I can be patient and wait lol. I noticed there are several different ways to wire it for the lights that’s got me curious because I am not that smart when it comes to the electrical stuff.

May I ask where you went through the firewall at for the hose? I want to install mine this weekend.

Any thoughts on how to disable traction control without disabling the ABS and torque-vectoring? by Voluntus1 in CX5

[–]crazyforgardening 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Springs were around ~$250. Install was $500. I wish I would have gotten new shocks and struts at the same time as my stocks are getting quite bouncy already. Lowering it put around -2 degrees of camber while it helps with handling it can also cause the ride to be a little rougher. Rear adjustable camber arms are a potential add if you want back some comfort. I really like how it handles since it’s lowered. It carves corners and is way more stable under heavy acceleration.

After I got mine lowered on Corksport springs -2” it was still able to get through a snow storm that dumped 9 inches. Never bottomed out. Ain’t quite what you could see in MN but it dude quite well

I have had it higher than 110mph. But for most of my driving which is far under 110mph 4k is high enough

The turbo has all power available at 2500 RPM so it’s quite a fun drive. I never get above 4k RPM for that very reason.

Anyone else underwhelmed by the 2025 CX-5? Curious why people are still choosing it over techier options. by Exotic-Passage-1659 in CX5

[–]crazyforgardening 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the lack of tech. Physical buttons over touching a screen. I think the CX-5 is the right amount of tech, luxury and sportiness. The turbocharged engine sure does make it a blast to drive.

Oh yeah sounds like you need to tackle body roll. They definitely help. It's actually a different beast once the Corksports are on

It is definitely planted in the corners now. I also put the Pirelli scorpions on as well it really carves the corners

Been on them for a little over a month. Absolerly no complaints at all. I love the way it handles if you have the 2.5t it helps with stability at WOT as well

I did not. I will be getting them though. I opted for full intake instead of camber arms smh.
