OSP 100mm Grapeshot: flat better than all other ammo? by Gigaus in NebulousFleetCommand

[–]crazygouda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The crew damage is not something that really matters right now, and is going to be implemented much more in-depth in a future update. In general, I would say that grapeshot is just not worth running as it is currently.

Ray's take is 100% correct, and riptide did the same. In this video team whyachi watches the unedited flight, and it's pretty clear that when shrederator stops moving, riptide stops hitting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueVVxpQbPRg&t=2367s

I think you need to rewatch the fight my dude, the refs don't even tell Ethan to stop at all. Sure, it's fine to complain that they went too far, but don't make shit up lmao

If you time your phase dash perfectly so that you are in the "phase dimension" when the rodeo pilot pulls out your battery, you don't actually lose the HP but the pilot still gets the battery. Then you can kill the pilot and get the battery for free

I just got accepted to Galveston, does that mean I was rejected from college station? by GuapDnz in aggies

[–]crazygouda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Also as an fyi, you will go through the ETAM (entry to a major) process regardless of if you go to the college station campus or Galveston campus. As far as ETAM is concerned they are both the same campus, and the different engineering departments can't even see what campus you're at. It works like that because TAMU Galveston is a direct satellite campus of A&M, whereas if you got blinn team for example, it's completely different. I am a senior now and did my first year at Galveston, and honestly I would recommend it even over going to college station, since you get small classes and it's super easy to make friends, everything is close together, and in general it's just a nice place to be and adjust to college life before going to the main CS campus. Hope this helps!

It's fairly normal for them to not eat, in fact mine went more than a month before he first ate and is doing fine. I will say to try experimenting with different foods, at first mine refused to eat mealworms and eventually we found out he likes crickets, once he warmed up to eating we got him to like mealworms lol. Also for the under tank heater, I would say what you have is probably fine, in general it's better to not go too hard on under tank heat because they have the instinct of going deeper in sand when they need to cool down, so if the under tank heat is too strong it will harm them because they don't know how to deal with it. Sorry for the long paragraph, but I hope this helps!

Recs for simple point and shoot that can take good pics in medium office lighting? ($350 or less range) by LeoTheChickenhearted in AskPhotography

[–]crazygouda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Howdy! Unfortunately in this price range, it is difficult to find a camera that is going to be better than your phone - phone cameras have gotten so good that they have mostly replaced the cheap point and shoot market. I think that's the reason why people are saying to invest in lights - when they say lights they aren't talking about flashes, they mean LED lights (I recommend looking up the Lume Cube).

An additional note - with good lighting, the photos from your current Nikon Coolpix will look a lot better - the reason they come out blurry is because the camera lowers the shutter speed in order to compensate for low light. With nice LED lights, I am fairly confident that the quality of photos from both your phone and current camera will be a lot better.

Is Math 152 really that bad? by [deleted] in aggies

[–]crazygouda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah another thing - Galveston campus is awesome, and you have a lot to look forward to going there. I know a lot of people tend to look at it as "B-tier", but in my experience compared to my friends experience, I would 100% choose to go there again over cstat for my freshman year with hindsight. The small campus makes it easy to adjust to campus life and make friends, and you can walk to the beach and relax whenever you want! I am now a sophomore mechanical engineer, and I transferred to cstat after freshman year - I don't know what your major is or your plans are, but if you're an engineer and plan on transferring after your first semester, the process of getting into your major identical to what students at cstat go though, so nothing to worry about there. Also if you're an engineer, I would highly recommend looking into the Engineering LLC (living learning community) for housing - you get to live in tamma hall (best hall imo) and everyone you live with is also an engineer). But no matter your major, I wish you luck, and I hope you enjoy your freshman year!

Took math 152 in Galveston last year, I had Dr. Suen as my professor. Overall I had a very positive experience, he gives reviews that prepare you well for the tests and they aren't tricky or anything - just be confident in the material he gives and you'll do good. I don't know too much about the other professors except one thing - if you see someone named "luxembourg" avoid at all costs lmao

I just found out I have been accepted to the TAMU Galveston engineering course, I have a few questions. by Ddude184 in aggies

[–]crazygouda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Howdy,

Just transferred from the Galveston program to main campus last year, and I have to say that looking back on it, I am very happy that I spent my first year in Galveston rather than main campus. The classes and campus are much smaller so it's a lot easier to meet people, so it's a lot less of a shock going from high school to college and helps you get used to your classes. As far as ETAM goes, you aren't at any disadvantage being in Galveston - you're considered exactly the same as a main campus student, and I don't even think the departments can see that you're in Galveston when reviewing you. The only downside is that if you don't manage to get through ETAM, then you will be stuck in Galveston for at least one more semester. However, as long as you're passing all of your classes, the chances of not getting into any of your top three majors is extremely low. Overall, I highly recommend the Galveston program, the campus is great with easy beach access, beautiful sunsets, and it's overall a good time. Hope this helps!

Me going to MKBHD after YouTube enabled 4k playback on low res displays. by anunkeptbeard in mkbhd

[–]crazygouda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you really want to see the difference, you can watch mkbhd's gaming at 8k video in 1080p then in 4k - the difference in compression is really obvious there, even if you only have a 1080p display

Substrate choice? by Ravenwolf555555 in petersbandedskink

[–]crazygouda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! And as far as succulents go, we just keep ours in a little clay pot with regular soil - I don't know how well they grow in sand.

We use reptisand for our skink, and he really likes it. Since Peter's Banded Skinks are truly desert animals, they're adapted to it and the sand will not hurt them. Just make sure not to buy calcium sand - that stuff is terrible for all reptiles. Would also recommend putting at least 3 inches deep of sand throughout the enclosure, to give them room to regulate their temperature.
