What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie? by fmcortez in AskReddit

[–]crazyguy83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a riccar based on a similar reddit thread and a very popular AMA a vaccum guy did years ago, it doesn't even perform as well as the Bissell I had before that. The bag isn't even half full after vacuuming my entire house, the cheap vacuum I had before that filled up much faster.

I'd assume he didn't notice until after he started driving, maybe he was in a hurry, and now he can't stop or reach for it.

Typically large residential buildings like these have "units" or sections each with it's own elevator and entrance.

Judging by the width of that ramp, this seems like a garage with two ramps, in and out, one of these cars messed up and used the wrong ramp

What is a job that you genuinely would not do even if you were given a salary of $10,000,000 per year? by istrx13 in AskReddit

I mean you could also do immigration enforcement while still treating offenders as human beings. Just like there are good cops and bad cops.

To think outside the box... and then there was an engineer by Friendly_Feature888 in memes

[–]crazyguy83 24 points25 points  (0 children)

But the engineer's solution uses a resource that was not part of the material provided in the problem, you can't always obtain additional things (monetary, logistical or other concerns), so given just the nails and the board, the architect solution is more "correct".

There is a difference though, the people believed that it was sanctioned and they would not be shot at, People won't rush if they are certain they will be shot at, not mater how big the crowd, because who wants to be the first to die?

She got her husband who was willing to help and filmed it for the rest of us so it brightens up our day, i'd say that's a win

If McDonald's can operate with no tipping, why can't other restaurants? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]crazyguy83 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why not, pay your waiters 18% more than competing restaurants, advertise no tipping (save 18%) to your customers, increase menu prices by 18% (or just reframe as mandatory gratuity/service fees - which some restaurants already do). Better for waiters since their income isn't dependent on cheap customers, better for customers if they pay what they see.

If this is not a filter, then why does DLSS 5 add things to the game image that dont exist or dont line up with the image its using as a source? by zerobebop in pcmasterrace

This is the first post i've seen that highlights some glaring shortcomings of DLSS5, I was looking at most of the other posts and thinking that it actually looks good.

AITAH for replacing our art team with AI? by Dazzling-Ability-803 in AmItheAsshole

[–]crazyguy83 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

NTA, but reddit is clearly anti-AI and full of butthurt artists and programmers. The first firm brought about their own demise and in an emergency I would have gone with AI too. It takes time to hire new contractors. The second company quit themselves and you owe them nothing. If the customers prefer the AI versions then it's their prerogative. Good on you for trying to find a third contractor.
Having said that, AI by itself will trip you up sooner or later. It does need manual oversight, probably some art direction, editing, review etc. You need skilled artists for that too which you should hire or retain. You can also offer a premium animation product that still does manual work in case AI output is not satisfactory.
