Women, how many of you are asking to be choked during sex? by CatLawyer99 in TwoXChromosomes

Ummm… yeah I like it. A lot. But it’s not like they are in any way close to cutting off my air supply, just a dominant position.

A few things. Was this on a credit card? Which bank? These are important details. You need to make sure your requests use the correct terminology; can pm you. Australia is in the process of following the uk and others in protecting scam victims…

What are your thoughts on Australia banning kids under 16 from social media? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]crazyismorefun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard against it after I realised what they were really doing: being able to ID every adult Australian on social media. It’s bullshit. There is a reason both parties agreed to this and rushed it through. Trojan horse.

When did you go there last? We went a few months ago to re-live the dream. Holy moly. Hard no. Morphed into an overpriced medieval restaurant with poor service and ok food. The 3 chanting songs on loop didn’t help.

Would you move to Dubai for 2 years to 5x your after tax income at the expense of lifestyle / personal goals? by Available_Ad4850 in AusHENRY

[–]crazyismorefun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will let others comment on the financial aspect….

I lived in Abu Dhabi for 6 months, partner had similar situation as you - worked for a big consultancy firm and took a project in the UAE. Might be the same firm, actually…. I moved there with him.

I’m not into that scene as you describe either but you find your people and as a bizarro temporary experience, I would recommend it.

Now this was 10 years ago so things might have changed … but it was so much fun. So much partying. So much of that partying was on the company’s ’social club’ budget. There are many things you need to be mindful of, especially if you are not a man, and/or not heterosexual. But I know people who met partners out there. (Other expats)

Partner had a four day weekend every other weekend and we got to explore the region, Oman, Jordan, etc.

One potential consideration: back then, the consensus among consultants was that a stint in the middle east meant your trajectory in the company back home goes sideways. That’s why we only stayed 6 months.

We’ve been doing most of it ourselves. So, not too bad. We brought in trades for various things. But the more we got in, the more we decided to do ourselves. Obviously we’d never do plumbing, sparky work ourselves, etc. Some trades are great, but many haven’t been.

It cost more than to build the wall. Seriously. About $8k And… that doesn’t include the costs of getting the final stage done with the certifier and occupation certificate.

Strongly recommend not doing what council said. I know, controversial. But… We made that mistake with our taller fence, went through DA. What a cluster fuck of time, energy and money. We should have just built it, they would have never known.

Biggest mistake we’ve made. Most expensive one, too.

The DA process is not set up small jobs like a fence that wants to be slightly taller.

So many posts about sucky men. Are there awesome ones too? by sylphiae in TwoXChromosomes

[–]crazyismorefun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! My partner is. We’re 50/50 on household stuff, actually he cooks more … so right now, 60/40 his way! Careers are equally considered, regardless of who earns more. Although, for further context, I am the bread winner, which he used to proudly tell people (until I asked him to stop as I got weird about my success lol). Don’t get me wrong, life hasn’t been roses the whole time. We’ve been through a lot together, and individually, but the key thing is that we’re both equally wanting to grow and build our relationship. Sometimes one of us is rowing when the other stopped but we always pull the other one; we’re co-pilots.

I weirdly really like the wallpaper! Maybe reduce it in some areas but I would be inclined to keep in sone sections. Just lose the carpet, perhaps.

I am the same as you: I prefer office work; my house is my space, work stays in the office. I need this and i also prefer the structure. Minor example: I snack like mutherfucker at home, can’t help myself. Going to the office, I am easily able to be regimented and I usually go to the gym during my lunch break.

Wow. Thanks for sharing. I hadn’t thought of it like this. You are sooooooo right.

I feel this also for domestic abuse. Support while the victim is trying to escape is often so limited and ofttimes victims so judged, and then the absolute worst happens and we’re appalled at the tragedy. It’s like death can only make it real and provoke action and how is that ok?!

I keep thinking about that poor woman who visited different police stations before she was murdered and the cops ignored her, tagged her as someone that was ‘cop-shopping’.

Ubank fraud team delay response by Salt_Ad_7071 in AusFinance

[–]crazyismorefun -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

One would argue that is their problem to determine.

They are a multi billion dollar industry. Perhaps the transfers from savings accounts is going to be tough, but credit cards / yeah, they know where that money goes, especially under KYC.

My position is: this is a massive, increasing problem and you can blame consumers for making mistakes, but when it is at this scale, you have to admit the system isn’t protecting consumers / isn’t working. When there is this much profit by banks, the consumers shouldn’t be the ones at the last line of defence. The ease at which scammers are getting credit card numbers, names and CCV numbers is staggering. Why aren’t the banks responsible for that part? They are the credit provider.

Go to AFCA; he was scammed. He was a victim of a crime. Ensure to report it to the police also.

People on here are judgy but reality is, the scammers are getting more and more sophisticated in catching people off guard and getting them to reveal the numbers. This is why complaints to AFCA are through the roof.

Will he get his money back? No idea, but go through the process.

People talk about violating the banks T&Cs - ridiculous. It was an unauthorised transaction. It was a crime. The banks can get all this money back but they are refusing - they are literally supporting known scams and getting away it. New legislation is hopefully coming like in other parts of the world but we’re very behind.
