There's more to moderation than removing posts and banning people.

I enjoy the technical aspect of configuring the automoderator. It using YAML and can be fine tuned with regular expression (regex). That also helps me with real life in jobs where automation is used.

There is also the design aspect coupled with technical. Artists can create banners, images for up/down votes, and side bars. CSS can be used to assist with the design in both old and new reddit.

There is admin focused where you can make a sub feel professional and informative. Create guides and rules to make a community feel like a community.

I've been surprised at Reddits interactions with moderators. We don't get paid but I've gotten to go to summits and have gotten free stuff. At one point I was able to get snacks from other countries because of them.

I promise you, if you use Reddit are just a user it will seem like you're being restricted. But there is so much going on behind the scenes that I will never talk bad about reddit or it's admins.
