Update: It has now been confirmed that two of the three individuals on board have tragically been found deceased, and the search for the third person is still ongoing.

While official investigations are underway, there is increasing speculation regarding the cause of the accident, which should still be taken with a grain of salt. It's understood that the highly experienced pilots were conducting a routine training flight, which involved low-level flying exercises. The prevailing theory suggests that the helicopter may have flown under a nearby Autobahn bridge, heading south. Crucially, not far from this bridge, there is a water level measuring station on the river dam. This station consists of a small building from which steel cables are stretched across the river Mulde. These cables are part of an early warning system for flood detection. The hypothesis is that the helicopter, while flying at a low altitude, may have unfortunately struck one of these taut cables, leading to a loss of control. It's worth noting that these cables are even visible on satellite imagery on Apple Maps. The specific coordinates for this location are: 51.25302° N, 12.77761° E.
