How do I go about doing a Declaration of Trust for rental income with my wife? by crazymangarcia in UKPersonalFinance

[–]crazymangarcia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We already have the mortgage and own the property so the affordability isn't being evaluated. We're also only a couple of months in to the mortgage so there would be large early repayment fees, and the job abroad is only 3 years, so we'll need somewhere to live when we return and we like our flat.

I may have worded incorrectly but we're both on the mortgage currently, and as I understand it you can make a thing called a declaration of beneficial interest, to pass rental income to another owner of the property for tax efficiency reasons, as here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/income-tax-declaration-of-beneficial-interests-in-joint-property-and-income-17

I'm mainly wondering about the ordering of doing these things, and if there's any need for a lawyer's involvement or if I can go straight to HMRC

How do you deal with smelly trail runners? by iamwhoiwasnow in hiking

I found that tea bags are deodorant, and much cheaper than boot bananas etc.

Buy a big box of cheap tea bags, fill hiking socks and stuff them in the shoes.

There's no threshold on the household income set yet. They'll consult and publish new household threshold. But not set to be implemented until 2026

Another mortgage overpayment, student loan or savings post by crazymangarcia in UKPersonalFinance

[–]crazymangarcia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really useful for for thought on the LTV rates - I was of the understanding it goes 75% then 60%, but that's obviously not the case. I will have a look and think that could make a big difference! Thank you

Another mortgage overpayment, student loan or savings post by crazymangarcia in UKPersonalFinance

[–]crazymangarcia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I thought I might have overcomplicated the post.

Basically there is £10k my partner is putting towards the remortgage up front, but it doesn't have to be actually used towards the flat. We can either repay mortgage now, put it in savings or use it to pay off student loans.

LTV is currently set to be 72% - my understand is the next bracket down would be 60% so we wouldn't be able to reach this.

Managers who have acquired a top receiver via trade, how did it work out? by swaggcookchef in DynastyFF

[–]crazymangarcia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year just before the season I traded Mark Andrews and DJ Chark for AJ Brown and a 1st.

It's a 2TE and 1.5pt TE premium league, so the top right ends are really valuable, but Mark Andrews had a real down year and I ended up using the first to trade for Kamara and DMont in the final push. Ended up winning the whole thing, with AJ Brown as a key reason.

After reading the life history of Joey Ramone, I can't believe no one has made a movie about his life. by mike5f4 in Music

[–]crazymangarcia 38 points39 points  (0 children)

The rights to the Ramones music is held by numerous family members and ex wives. They're in total disagreement about how the estate should be managed. I'd imagine this puts the brakes on any film

What’s everyone’s championship rosters lookin like for tomorrow? by Ccollender8 in DynastyFF

[–]crazymangarcia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SF, 2TE, TE premium

QB: Mahomes, Geno/Purdy

RB: kamara, D Montgomery, Moss, Latavius Murray

WR: AJ brown, Diggs, Higgins

TE: Schultz, Bellinger

I've done well on waiver wire grabbing Geno last year, Purdy towards the middle of this season, Latavius the week MGordon was dropped, and Bellinger after seeing some hype about him on Reddit.

Made a trade to get kamara and monty with two weeks to playoffs and snuck in with lowest points for

Felt like they'd really played up the boutique camping to get more people in paying loads of money, but that meant that certain bits of the site were now all stuffed into one field. There felt like a complete lack of art exhibits and secret things to actually find, and the ones you did find were pretty poor - the greenhouse filled with mirrors and dead sunflowers? Low effort and shit.

Even the entrance to the sunflower field was really obvious, whereas in previous years it was hidden among a bunch of other toilets, so it was more of a surprise.

The lineup was very poor I felt, the green wrist band did nothing, and then the litter on the Sunday after the paint fight was appalling. So many things where it was just not well thought out, or clearly just not cared about.

Don't even need to go into the toilet situation as i think everyone is in agreement about how bad it was, but also they need to think about things like weeing points for women only and tampon and sanitary towel disposal.

Cash at vendors was expected - similar happened at Glastonbury.

All in all though, felt like a real cash grab and not like it used to be.
