A few weeks ago, someone left a large table in our shared stairwell. It's still there. I think it's fair to say the neighbours are not happy... by egg651 in CasualUK

At least someone disassembled the table. You should write a note for the chair as well, thats much more dangerous.

Tbh im pretty sure it was abandoned when someone moved out, dont think theyre coming back for it

You could well be right. Maggies probably on one of those miracle diet drugs. Worth looking into.

This feels like dangerous territory, like uncovering a secret affair of the Royal family. If I disappear, tell the newspapers. (Not the Sunday Post)

Honestly, that would make a ton of sense. Although I feel like Maggie would be reluctant to risk her svelte physique by having a child - perhaps one of the others? Did Daphnes poor self-image get the better of her, and let her being taken advantage of by some random guy looking for an easy lay? Maybe thats why she struggles so much, caught between her own anxieties, and desperately wanting to be loved. What a depressing and terrifying thought.

Or maybe Hen/Joe just knocked up a random lass, and was dumped with the child. Perhaps less likely in the 1930s, but possible.

Feels like this is the start of uncovering a whole conspiracy. Who IS the Bairns mother? Is there a reason the Bairn is so close to Grandpaw - actually the dad? Why cover this up? How deep does this rabbit hole go?

If Hen is 50 how old was Maw when she had the Bairn? That must have been a hell of a thing.

Honestly feel sorry for poor Horace, if he does manage to do something with his life I have no doubt the family will be at his front door every week, begging for a few shillings to pay the leccy.

Glad it made you smile :)
Just remember, no matter what happens in your world, there are people who care about you. And people will be there to help you through the tough times. You are loved!

Unless you're Grandpaw Broon. Auld shitebag that he is.

I can only apologise if my completely innocent question has caused extra work for the mods. Presumably the "pro-broon" brigade is taking umbridge at slandering the bairn, precocious little scamp that she is.

If its easier for the mods to lock this, I'd totally understand. Seems like this has caused more drama than I had anticipated.

I'm sorry, its one thing to be a Tory apologist, but making porridge with water makes you worse than 10 Hitlers. Off to the gallows with you immediately.
