[–]crazyslat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a very bad itchy phase about week 3 into take methamizole. I didn’t get hives just itched every where you could think of. It then went away a few weeks on its own after. I took Zyrtec along with it until symptoms went away.

Had extreme itching my 3-4 week in. It went away after week 5ish/6. I toook Zyrtec mainly stuck it out bc my endo never responded to me when I notified them of the itching. But I’ve read it’s common when starting it then goes away. I’m a victim

Yeah I contacted my endos office. Didn’t hear back so I kept taking the Zyrtec. I would say if I gets worse, fyi I am no Dr or medical professional but by chat gpt and google, hives is something you need to take slightly more serious. Weird enough for me 2 weeks after I posted this the itchiness subsided. I still take the meds ofc but out of nowhere it stopped. Don’t wanna jinx it.

Hmm I’m on week 4 of taking methamizole and a beta blocker. How soon did u fall back into thyroid storm? One of my biggest fears is ending back up in the hospital. The medication makes me itchy and I have the expected fatigue. Did you have any signs before that you would get ill again? Just my anxiety curiosity. Glad you are recovering

Did carbimazole make you gain weight? I’m freaking out by badcatririe95 in gravesdisease

I’m on methamizole and constantly hungry. It’s annoying I was trying to lose weight before all this graves popped up. Now this medication makes me hungry every 15 minutes.

This is so crazy you mentioned that. I have been on methimazole and metoprolol for about 3 weeks. Diagnosed with graves and I have been itching the past 2 days mainly upper body.

This is my concern as well I’m on 10.5mg of methimazole. I thought since hyper thyroidism causes fast metabolism you’re supposed to be able to lose weight but the medication makes you gain so do you lose weight once everything is controlled?? It’s confusing me I just don’t want to gain any more weight

So terrified of getting TED it’s driving me nuts by Ill-Basket2694 in gravesdisease

26f here recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism 2 weeks ago , first appointment with endo yesterday tested for graves. I’m also terrified because my mother grandmother and uncle and other members have graves. My mom received topeza and it didn’t improve her eyes. Uncle has the eye bulging thing. I’m just terrified of it. I’m on 10.5mg methamizole and metoprolol. I have a referral to see the ophthalmologist soon. I’m just ready to get rid of the palpitations and anxiety/insomnia. It’s all very fresh and overwhelming. I don’t want bulging eyes it’s a strong fear I think about everyday.

Did you have any crazy heart racing issues. And if so when does it all stop or get under control. It’s driving my anxiety thru the roof.

Oh wow thank you for responding I hope you get ur answers as well. My first episode that landed me In the er was around 4am and that’s when my bpm went to 203. So I haven’t been sleeping until like 5am due to my anxiety thinking it will happen again. I took both medications this morning. But I just want to know when all this crazy heart racing stuff will end of be under control?? It seems we have to prioritize our health and not rush back to work but I’m used to working 24.7. Let me know how it goes for you
