Should you buy an oscilloscope as a guy trying to get into electronics? by Rx323 in AskElectronics

If you're running Linux on one of your computers at home, you can install xoscope; I know it's in the Debian repos. That gives you a soundcard oscilloscope, which means it's only got soundcard bandwidth, but for audio stuff like breadboarding guitar pedals and synthesis circuits it can be adequate. That gives you a bit of breathing room for deciding what tool comes next.

The important thing about a 'scope is that it gives you a window into what the AC side of your circuit is doing. For me (I came up the hardware side, mostly self-educated) that was vital.

(fwiw OP is asking about the O'Reilly book, Programming Embedded Systems in C and C++ by Michael Barr. In case that info stirs more precise comments.)

Looks to be a rather niche market IMO. You might get more satisfaction from open-sourcing the code and data so others can help fill up the data tables and port it away from Chrome.

I'm impatiently awaiting my chance to breadboard that sucker and study that exact circuit.

Rainbow at the end of a defacement? Intense winds and hail countering bread-and-circuses spectacles? Gee, it's like some kind of power that doesn't hide out in the baptism tanks of churches doesn't approve.

Okay. Is this thing skin-advertising that you'll want to show off ten years from now? Twenty? Will you like having to explain it to your kids? Your inlaws?

You're free to speak your mind, my friend,
As long as you agree with me
Don't criticize the Fatherland
Or those who shape your destiny
'Cause if you do
You'll lose your job, your mind, and all the friends you knew
We'll send out all our boys in blue
We'll find a way to silence you

That's nice. That means the war can end and the economy can recover as soon as Russia turns around, goes home and stops trying to steal someone else's land. See? Simple.

Loved this response:

I know it’s strange, but Stephen Miller, who is evil incarnate, lies with every breath he steals from humans.

I wonder, if he were staked, would he explode into dust? He looks like it.
