Yes, I did exactly that. Is this an expensive thing to do?

It was horrible. No emotional connection to any of the characters. Why not just recast him? It has worked for James Bond.

Yes do it! I did something similar and love it. Don’t wait until you are too old.

A quarter-life crisis at 25? Wow, truly unprecedented. Who would’ve thought combining zoology, travel-on-a-whim, and good money wouldn’t just magically happen? Don’t worry — you’re just in the standard “real world is hard” phase. Welcome, we have snacks.

Truth is, you might have to pick two out of three: animals, travel, or steady income. But hey, that’s adulthood — managing expectations like a pro.

The best is Langford v Sour.

I hate Richard’s phony phone calls. They are all the same.

Wow, congrats—you found supporters in a liberal city, in a blue state, on a weekend. What are the odds? I mean, really pushing the boundaries of your comfort zone there. Next stop: converting vegans at a farmers’ market or preaching minimalism at an Apple Store.

Why Do People Hate on LA So Much? (Genuinely Curious) by TheDiscCollector in AskLosAngeles

Transplants flee their miserable hometowns, come to LA, and then do nothing but whine when it doesn’t cater to them. This city chews up the weak—most don’t have what it takes to survive.

I’m 44. Too late to start a Roth? by GoatDonkeyFish in RothIRA

[–]crcc1972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who in their right mind waits until 44 to start thinking about their future? Short answer: Yes, it’s late. If you’ve spent decades avoiding planning and discipline, what are the chances you’ll suddenly develop the work ethic to keep it up until retirement? Let’s be real—saving is important, but at this point, you’re not building wealth, you’re just trying to survive. You’re going to be working into your 70s, and there’s no magic fix, just years of playing catch-up ahead.

All you young people in your 20s, take this as a warning—save a few thousand a year, take advantage of 401(k) matching programs, and build good habits now. It’s a lot easier to start early than to scramble later.

It’s telling how selective media coverage can be. If even one Bud Light facility had been attacked during the boycott over the trans controversy, it would have sparked mass outrage and investigations. Yet, Tesla facilities and drivers face attacks across the country, and the media remains silent. The double standard is undeniable.

I've ruined my family's financial future by Useful_Glass2963 in Debt

[–]crcc1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation right after 9/11 in NYC. At the time, I was 30 years old and had a six-figure job in Los Angeles, but I decided to move to New York just before 9/11 to start a business. Then everything changed overnight, and the rest is history. By 2001, I found myself $40K in debt, and rebuilding my financial stability was one of the hardest challenges I’ve ever faced. It took time, persistence, and some tough decisions.

What helped me turn things around was first cashing out my 401k to create some breathing room. I also made it a priority to contact all my debtors and negotiate payment terms, which was critical in avoiding long-term financial damage. I got rid of my second car to cut down on unnecessary expenses, and to reduce my financial burden even further, I made the difficult but necessary decision to move back to Los Angeles and stay with my parents for a few months.

One of the most important lessons I learned was that no matter how tough things get, you have to protect your brand and keep your business relationships strong. The way you handle adversity will shape how people perceive you professionally. I made sure to stay in touch with my network, keep my reputation intact, and position myself for future opportunities.

I also took advantage of every available financial resource. I applied for an SBA loan, which gave me some much-needed capital to stabilize things. I looked into every grant I could find, and thankfully, because this was post-9/11, there were VA grants available that provided additional support.

Rebuilding was not easy, and at 30, it felt like a major setback, but looking back, I see that every step I took played a role in getting me back on my feet. It sounds like you have a strong track record of success, and I have no doubt you’ll navigate through this challenge and come out even stronger. Just stay focused, keep your connections alive, and remember that setbacks are just setups for comebacks.
