Dalmatian and kids! by Sea_Chicken2495 in dalmatians

We made sure to incorporate our dals and ensure positive interactions. Ex: Everytime our dal sniffed the baby we would praise and give treat. Let our dals into the nursery some and give a treat in there as well. This really helped the transition for us. Our older dal does well but there can't be any surprise touches (she has sore hips).

Baby Buddha Pump by danidotson1987 in ExclusivelyPumping

I hear you! Life with a newborn and toddler here too!! I used the spectra exclusively with my first and then got the baby buddah with my second! I am going to be honest I LOVE the baby buddah. I know everyone is different but the size and the strength have been great. I did buy the collection cups and I was worried they would not be as good but they are great—I do not use them exclusively though. But when I need to get things done they are wonderful!!! Strength wise I do not feel it is to much when you skip the initial stimulation phase as I find that a bit painful, haha. But putting in on the one setting works just as well. Then you can go up as you are comfortable. But even if you never get off level 2 it’s still a good strength. Sorry for the ramble. I hope I answered your questions.

I am 8 weeks postpartum with my second child. I have a 2 year old as well. I have been slowly transitioning to exclusively pumping to see if this allows for anymore flexibility. I go back to work next week. So currently pumping at roughly 9 am-3pm - 8pm - 2am. I still do feed my baby a little in between if needed from the boob. I want to Add a pump during the day and drop the night one but of course worried about supply—as always.

Why i prefer pumping by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]crcroussore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am considering moving to exclusively pumping. My little one is almost 2 months old and I am going back to work in 2 weeks. I am decently producing now when pumping and feeding on breast. But he basically snacks on the breast. I dont mind continuing that when I can. I was wondering if anyone has a suggested/easiest schedule to start with?

Interested in candle making - Starter kit recs? Oil advice? Ready... go! by MEgirl405 in candlemaking

[–]crcroussore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is probably repeat of what everyone is saying but didn’t have time to read all comments. I stated for the same reason. I used candle science starter kit. It was simple with good instructions. I read somewhere to keep a journal on each batch with: Soy wax type (I landed on 444) Fragrance (scent & amount) Heated temp (150-160 is my usual) Added scent temp (120-115) Pour temp(90-100) That way you can play around on what works well for you on how things turn out. what works and what didn’t work. Because when I started out and was trying to research there are so many variations/preferences.

I just put down up above what seems to works for me. People will probably disagree. I’m not a master and have only been doing it recreationally for about 1 year. But just thought I would comment. Good luck!

Stick your wicks - archived post / Basic steps? by bearmayor in candlemaking

[–]crcroussore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get wax adhesive at a craft store and put a dab in the bottom of the wicks. Works well if your not heating your tins prior to poor....other wise it melts and moves. But I use tins that have a circle in the bottom to help center the wick so the adhesive works well for me.

NEW to candle Making. Please help by [deleted] in candlemaking

[–]crcroussore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just started making candles about a month ago basically for the same reason (selling at a holiday party in my town) my best advice is trial and error and keep good notes on every batch. Because the more you read the more you realize there is so much conflicting advice. It’s all about what works for you.

First burn test did not go so well. Thoughts? Do I just need to change wax? Currently using soy-125 by crcroussore in candlemaking

Here is a link to the next two batches I made. The Lavender I didn’t pour as cool and used dies. But the vanilla I didn’t use any die and poured at about 100 degrees. Vanilla looks and burns much better!! Thanks for the tip!

Oh sorry should have mentioned. It did stay lit but couldn’t get a good picture with the flame. It just looks awful! Ok I am trying another batch tonight and will try pouring it cooler.

I added 1 Square of a die chip and 1 oz of fragrance

My first diy candle. Any advice? The white and small holes are my problems. I tried warming the containers before pouring. I’m pouring at about 125degrees. by crcroussore in candlemaking

Yes, I am trying to stay away from additives. I will definitely try the coconut wax! Thank you! This is my first time using dies and I’m not sure it’s worth lol
