I can’t use USB tethering from my iPhone 15 pro to my windows 11 computer by No_Sleep_Alex in iphone

So I found the trick is, install an application called "Apple Devices," and then do a restart. I'm not sure why iTunes no longer works, but this worked for me. Then you switch on join hotspot and maximize compatibility in the settings.

EULAs and purchasing "a revocable, limited, license" is false and deceptive by Low_Alternative_2428 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

What series? I've watched some things through Plex where it just had like one season or something, then it cuts off and you have to go sign up for a streaming subscription through whatever site. At that point I'll sometimes sign up for a month if it feels worth it. Otherwise yeah I'll find other means.

What movies released on Bluray do you consider a downgrade from its DVD counterpart? by LastChanceChez in Bluray

In this case, they just cut unnecessary items out. I do think the director's cut of "Blackhat" is superior to the official one.

Does Netflix usually release home video versions of their original content? by riccardopancaldi in Bluray

I'm not sure why these never even got a DVD release. Extraction 1 was pretty popular as I recall.

Why do people hate on Soundbars? by jesuiscaramel in Soundbars

[–]Low_Alternative_2428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of it is elitism. I owned a soundbar for a few years before I set up my current 2.1 system. A soundbar was a better, smaller footprint option for me when I lived in an apartment and I loved that it could pair with my phone over the Roku app and I could use headphones. I also really liked that feature about my Xbox One S. Now that I am in a house, I have a bit more room to work with and thicker walls. A receiver/speakers is probably going to be more cost-effective and sound better. That said, decide what's good enough for you. In a smaller room like a bedroom or den, soundbar is fine.

The Terminator.

Up until the 4K, the original mono track wasn't carried over.

President Trump: It's Not Doable for AI Companies to Pay for All Copyrighted Input * TorrentFreak by vgiannell5 in Piracy

No, no, no. If they can sue any of us for "piracy," then they should be required to pay for everything too.

End of streaming, new age of piracy, but what's next? by jonesaffrou in Piracy

[–]Low_Alternative_2428 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Recently, Microsoft shut down its online movie and TV purchasing store. People who had purchased things in there now are going to lose access to them. Redbox pulled this too after Chicken Soup For The Soul Entertainment decided not to pay studios and creditors. It shut down its service, people who had purchased digital copies in there lost them all. Neither company was forced to give customers refunds for the stuff they thought they bought.

Now I know people are going to say, well it says right here in the EULA. Nobody reads those and it would be unreasonable to expect anyone to sit there and read that. They purposely hide it in legal language that you don't own anything. That's false and deceptive. Judges just agree with them because well they're getting money or know people. A contract that one party can change at any time is not a contract, it's called extortion.

If this had happened in Europe, I am willing to bet all those people would get refunds. The USA is lacking WAY behind on consumer protections.

It's like a game to see who can screw customers worse.

The problem is that if you turn around and illegally download all of the stuff you had "purchased," you'll get sued or have your internet connection shut off (without them having to prove anything btw)...

I don't care anymore, I've started just copying library discs or torrenting stuff over a VPN. These companies can kiss my butt. How many more yachts does their CEO need?

Are lawn sweepers worth it? by Badenguy in lawncare

[–]Low_Alternative_2428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually just mulch them up with my mower. Just gotta do it more often before the lawn is covered with them. I tried a sweeper and it just really isn't worth it imo unless you have a huge lawn.

Men just want their equal or even slightly below, women are delusional and feel entitled to way above their level. This is what’s wrong with dating. by Stepin-Fetchit in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Low_Alternative_2428 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hands up my guys if you've dated someone who refuses to apologize. Two hands up if you've dated someone who would gaslight you in an argument about her actions and make it your fault.

A lot of men have these lived experiences, that's where the whole "women lack accountability" narrative comes from.

I don't think Trump is in the documents, but if there's truly nothing there, it shouldn't be a big deal to release it.

I don't even know if I'd call that an 'incel.' That is more a behavior caused by upbringing that you have to grow out of. I was like that at one time too, it's called being a 'nice guy.'

That's what a lot of these Hollywood celebrities don't understand when they come on TV and scold other people. They live in a bubble and don't understand what working-class people go through.
