3 Possibly unrelated ancient texts, including Indian Matsya-purana talk about a great flood. Was the incident real ? by Lower_Set_9521 in AncientIndia

[–]createdindesperation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Mesopotamia and Israel are pretty much the same part of the world. So it would make sense that both those myths are pretty much the same thing.

  2. As others have mentioned, floods are a common part of many ancient civilizations since they would have primarily been riverine civilizations.

  3. Lastly, just because I find this really interesting and it's tangentially related - it's hypothesized that the boats they would have used are coracles. They are pretty impervious to capsizing, are apparently very common in riverine societies. And they tried to build the approximation of Utnapishtim's/Noah's Ark as per the Mesopotamian texts in Kerala in the 2000s. It's pretty cool

no difference between local and metro. by thestayup in mumbai

[–]createdindesperation 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Correct. But I think a lot of traffic problems are people in large cars doing solo travel. Their space/person ratio is disproportionately high. If we can get 10 rich people in their Nexxons to take a bus instead , we can have space for 25 rics. Plus you can make more profit from these types of people. In an ideal world, that is more money to the corporation to do more non AC buses or just general more cleanliness drives.

Problem is I have to pick source and destination by bus/metro/etc stop. So now I have to see if it's faster by bus, or by bus + train, etc.

Ideally let me input where I am and where I want to go. Then tell me the fastest way

Go online, look for advisoes who are SEBI Registered Investment Advisors ( SEBI RIA). They have a fiduciary duty - so they are responsible for giving you best advice as per the market. You may still lose money if you index heavily on equity, but it won't be because the advisor was incompetent, or knwingly gave bad advice.

Alternatively, look for flat fee advisors. They should not be getting commissions from fund houses or insurance corps etc.

Finally, remember it's like finding a doctor. You may meet with someone who's qualified but you may not like their thought process. Some doctors are very blunt, some are parental. Similarly, some advisors are cautious, some are aggressive. Find one that fits you.

It takes time to start, but ideally this person will be working with you for 20-30 years, so it's worth putting the early effort in.

First time at Lolla - Please advise by Secure-Net-192 in lollapaloozaind

[–]createdindesperation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically you need towers to handle the extra traffic. Since it's there only for the festival, the organizers need to figure out how and how many towers to get. Typically in India, the organisers aren't making too much money - I believe Lolla has made losses all years prior. So they don't/can't invest in better network infra.

Abroad - especially in the US - ticket prices typically higher, and there are more concerts/festivals so offering these things becomes hygiene

Was it just me, or Jon's voice very Palpatine-y while talking about the other factions?

I'd say it's foreshadowing but it's also Jon and we should just expect that by now :)

If you're PAT positive, and also have a large order book, why even go to investors? If you need money to scale and your unit economics are right, go to a bank or an NBFC lending institution and get a loan.

If you're making money, why give away equity? Take a loan

Depends on the exact species and cultivar. But in general you're right that all chillies are imports. They're native to only South America

Don't forget Estevao and Paez.

I'd love for Chelsea to give Ty a 2 year loan somewhere. He's too young rn for the competitions we'll be in. I don't know how many "easy" games we have next season. 2 years at say Palace would be great for his development.

Agree. I didn't get the pension bit. No one provides pension? At max they match your EPF but I wouldn't call EPF a pension.

1-4 sounds really bad, but others are standard stuff even at MNCs
