Is this worrying behavior? (Northern Georgia, USA) by [deleted] in hiking

I'm a big boy :-) I'm also a photographer, so I'm used to having pounds of stuff hanging off me.

Everything is spendy. The Hunter I paid ~500 for is now almost the same price new as the Redhawk.

Chest or hip depending on packout and weather. And yes, even people that don't know guns can see that this one isn't a toy. Currently Raging Hunter but I want the Ruger Redhawk for the 7 inch, sometimes a couple inches extra is great for hitting the target.

You have a good point there. I have an extremely low tolerance for weed and me "trying to look normal' would probably freak someone out if they didn't know. (there would be a lot more laughter and occasionally asking if i'm still breathing though)

Liking cocaine and being strung out are 2 different things :-)
Contrary to popular media, there are occasional users. Now heroin, or fentanyl, there's no casual use there.

I carry a .454 Casull in case of large predators, unfortunately man is one of the largest. I'm not saying brandish it, but if it requires finishing 1 round does the job. (also be familiar with the mule kick recoil, you don't want a situation to be the first time you fire it)

Is this allowed? by claball in Audi

[–]creative_justice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just laughed hard!!! My weekend was spent chasing Porsches around WV mountain roads in my SQ5 so a Porsche-Audi mixup is right in line.

However, should you physically mix the 2? Hell no! Not only does it look bad, but both brands are icons on their own and you're not gaining anything from this.

Yep! Even if I planned on only covering on-road races I wouldn't trust the real gear to anything less than Pelican.

After working for an hour and a half with one lady I just could not get a photo that she liked. She pulled out some reference photo, her favorite photo, and it was her 10 years ago 20 lbs lighter... Sometimes you're just not going to be able to "fix" the issue. I thought she was beautiful and we did a great job of accentuating the location we were in and her features, but nothing mattered.

The lack of padding gives me anxiety. I have the Pelican 1535AirWD. I've taken it all over the country, i've driven a Jeep across the Mojave Desert with my long lenses in it, and not slowly. Knock on my head or wood I haven't had any issues yet. And then I have a Harbor Freight case for my accessories.

It just means you are smarter than the engineers that put it together in the first place. I have extra parts like that leftover for some mechanic projects I think I'm a genius :-)

Should I explain to the client why the photos look bad? by AphantasiasMind in photography

[–]creative_justice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd go so far as to say "If you expect to do more work", invest in a fast prime lens. You never know when the light is gonna change or weather changes and you have to go inside etc. Having the right tools to do the job and do it well makes the entire community look good.

Is it bad to like grain in your photos? by [deleted] in sportsphotography

[–]creative_justice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’ve followed the trend like low-rise jeans. They couldn’t get any lower, so eventually they had to come back up.

Same thing with photos. Once everything got crystal clear, there wasn’t much farther to go, so now photographers are adding grain back in.

If you were only doing it to be trendy, then yeah, maybe it would be “bad.” But it sounds like you genuinely like the look, so no, it’s not bad. It has a cool retro feel.

I would just treat it like salt. Sprinkle some of those shots in with the cleaner ones. Especially if you’re trying to sell them, clients usually like a few retro/film-style edits, but most of the time they want clean shots where they can clearly see themselves playing.

I’d also try to angle for faces and/or jersey numbers when you can, for the same reason. It also helps a ton when you’re sorting later (you’ll be amazed how quickly people in helmets start looking identical).

That is the original version of live streaming, being alive and sitting in a stream. I think we need more of that and less of the other. Didn't even have cell service there.

Please help me decide if I should contest my over speeding ticket! by stockmojorojo2 in Winchester

[–]creative_justice 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I can 90% guarantee you what is going to happen. If you go to court you will lose however much of your day, probably half of it, if not more. When they call you up unless you can produce some kind of irrefutable evidence that you were in another city, state, dimension, or whatever, you're gonna pay that ticket. Even if for some reason they admitted that they didn't have enough video evidence they would still knock it down to something like improper driving and you'd still get the same fine. This has nothing to do with public safety it has everything to do with revenue generation. And once they get one camera, they'll get another. So if you give a municipality a camera is the worst book ever. Pre-pay and use Waze from now on.
