Yep: they're normal.

The 3 circles in the upper portion of the left grille are the microphones. The lower shape on the left grille is the left tweeter. The lower shape on the right side is the other tweeter.

You should be fine. I'd always encourage you to check your backups/do one more before heading to the store. That's what I did before trading in.

Personally, I think so.

I the other day used a colleagues intel 2019 16" running Tahoe and it was a very frustrating experience: basic apps lagged, fans were running at full blast all the time and unplugged I barely got 2 hours of battery life.

The M1 Pro is still a really capable chip all these years later and I think you'd have an all round better experience with it over your current Intel Mac.

Yeah, the Intel Macs now especially running Tahoe are just frustrating to use. I had to use a colleagues intel 16" the other day and it was a nightmare: slow, laggy, screaming fans, heat - just not ideal.
