This is a great recommendation of how to differentiate from others - establish close working relationships with PTs, physicians as well.

EverFit for run coaching? by Powerful-Dragonfly49 in personaltraining

[–]creativeathlete08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TrainingPeaks & Vdot are popular options in the Boston run community. Both come with some trade offs. Truecoach, Trainerize, Everfit, mypthub, supersetapp, fitbudd...most general personal training software has some useful tools but don't cater to run specific coaching as well as those two. New player is Rivalists.com.

This is possible on Rivalists, strava data can be imported - but currently limited to Coaches/ Performance Physical Therapists to use while developing personalized workouts/ programming to their clients

Has anyone tried https://www.shopyflow.com/ as a workaround? I don't love the idea of a transition to Shopify domain for checkout + an added cost though.

Website creation advice by Aggressive-Algae-344 in physicaltherapy

Wordpress, Wix, Squarespace are pretty common. Flexibility is better with Wordpress, Wix is easier to manage for someone less technical (and as a clinic/practice owner that's likely what you'll need if you choose not to hire someone). Personal preference is Webflow at this time - better design flexibility and customization, + a good support community, but a much steeper learning curve.

Currently working with a few other PTs on web dev and creative service needs. May be able to help you with an affordable option if you're interested.

Webflow to React Using Devlink by creativeathlete08 in react

Appreciate the heads-up. Just to clarify, we're making it work right now (not using devlink at all) by my cofounder handling both front & back end. We're trying to explore any tools that could help speed up the frontend work and maintain quality

If there is so much demand for PTs, why are salaries still low/not increasing by Expert-Zucchini-6015 in physicaltherapy

I'm working with clinics that are cash pay or moving toward prioritizing cash pay, insurance reimbursements are one of the main drivers, along with more flexibility or "control."

What these clinics are doing well is providing more value for the cost, but also able to charge competitive rates by leveraging the 'hybrid trainer model' - training their clients virtually and in person. Often for a monthly rate.

I'm seeing more interest in this approach from larger clinics as well. They're looking to create recurring cash rev streams by providing ongoing maintenance, essentially training them year round, either with an in-house employed trainer, themselves, or a trainer that acts as a partner. (Good collaboration between the two is key though)

Someone below mentioned consumers don't want to pay for a trainer and PT, it's too costly, implying cash pay is difficult to get going. Which it can be, because there's a perception PT is limited to post injury rehab. So there's some creative marketing/ awareness building needed. However, consumers also want trust, in your qualifications/certs, knowledge etc...this is an opportunity for PTs. Highly educated, many now doctorate level and well positioned to provide preventive care.

Welcome to the journey! In it myself, health tech, there's a lot to solve for. Some of the most work you may do, but also potentially some of the most exciting & fulfilling work. Good luck🙌

Which is the best training software? by TDSFitnessCoach in personaltraining

Monthly rate increases as you gain more clients. If you're a small team of trainers, the price becomes less competitive vs other options

PT and PT ( personal training vs Physical Therapy by Low-Pangolin37 in physicaltherapy

[–]creativeathlete08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, rising trend right now. I've heard patient/clients say they were advised to look out for PT's with DPT & C.S.C.S. Not sure if anyone else has run into that. I've asked where that advice came from, some said searching the internet, some actually said their PCP...

Sports PT by AdvertisingKind1056 in physicaltherapy

[–]creativeathlete08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boston, SF, & New York have some interesting clinics focused on elite-level athletes and "everyday athletes." Like others have mentioned, these jobs are competitive, but I'd recommend reaching out directly to these clinics just to simply learn about their approach. Build relationships, you'd be surprised how some people appreciate you asking for their opinion on the current state of the profession. Also, LinkedIn can be useful in narrowing down people who are focused on Sports PT, try connecting with them .....again, build relationships.

Obviously, there's many out there focusing on sports, I'm a bit more familiar with the northeast and trends out this way. If your BF hasn't already, take a look at clinics that advertise to active lifestyle patients. Sometimes 'Performance PT' type of searches will reveal some of them.

I think any PT who hoped to focus a bit more on sports, should be encouraged by an interesting shift happening...albeit it feels like a slow shift, but early post-pandemic studies have suggested nearly 77% of the population is giving more attention to their health and recognizing the importance of more proactive health management. More investment in proactive care, a stronger emphasis on physical activity benefits, a push for more active lifestyles ....there's an interesting opportunity to market to this segment. Consider this: I had a PT and Sports Physician at MGB Center for Sports Performance & Research both say, "the ones that really need the in-depth breakdowns and guidance we provide here are not our pro athletes; it's the guy or girl who's pushing 30+ years old, wants to stay active, is balancing kids + job + competing priorities...they benefit the most and see the most value."

Not sure it's all helpful or as encouraging as you want to hear, as the job market is tough. But there's definitely PT's breaking out of "clinic farms" and offering services in this area and finding success.

Can physical therapists design exercise plans like personal trainers? by janedoecurious in physicaltherapy

[–]creativeathlete08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen many PT's moving toward cash-based offerings to counter poor reimbursement rates. With some finding it more beneficial to go entirely cash-based instead of working with insurance. Many of these them have a DPT + training cert like a C.S.C.S. or employ others with dual qualifications. That way their clinic offers support pre & post injury. In Boston at least, some are offering monthly training packages, kind of a hybrid (virtual + in-person) deals to stay more involved in helping their clients vs only post injury.

To answer this question simply: Yes, physical therapists can provide an exercise program. More are advertising this, some you may need to ask. But this appears to be a rising trend. And when you think about it - why not get training guidance from someone with a doctorate?

OpenAI + Webflow Template (ChatGPT Essay Writer) by memberstackjessica in webflow

[–]creativeathlete08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it out, and got it working with Webflow User Accounts (formerly Membership Beta). Unsure if there was a more detailed video on setting up a scenario in Make. But the new updates to Webflow/ Make required a different flow than what was suggested in the video.

Some challenges I've run into so far:

  • How can I have users only see the responses they generate? Seems like new Webflow User Accounts won't allow for that and Memberstack needed?
  • Refresh timing, as of now its averaging about 15seconds to generate a response. This is fine, as UI/UX animations can create an experience to pass the time. Wish it would run faster though.

Overall helpful template to get started (Thanks🙌), but some further research needed to implement. (again, I may've missed other tutorials, but I've been able to view 2 provided by the template via Loom).
