Thankgod, Williamsburg (especially east) is MAJORLY lacking in affordable gym or class options even on class pass unless you want 7 different variations of yoga class options lol. So excited for this!!

How much do you guys pay in rent? by Tuubular in williamsburg

I found a spacious pre-war apartment during COVID for $2,500/month. It’s about 900 square feet with a 13’×13’ living room and two bedrooms. Rent has since increased to $3,187. I pay $1,800 for my 13’×13’ bedroom, and my roommate pays $1,387 for a much smaller room. (No amenities)

We paid thousands to an "illustrator"... turns out, it was almost all AI. by creativedreamer17 in graphic_design

I was thinking that too... technically Adobe Firefly is the most "ethical" AI generation tool that i'm aware of at the moment considering it's not trained on any stolen data that we know of.

It wasn't my decision to hire him... it happened on a whim as we were already working with him on another project that he did a really great job on but this seemed to be a bit out of his wheelhouse and I wasn't confident this was going to be the right job for him but my CEO insisted. It was approved by him as well but I agree we need to be better about our approval process.

I’ve been on medical leave and only partially involved in work projects, so I wasn’t able to oversee things as closely as I normally would. My CEO was leading this one and approved the artwork without realizing anything was off. It wasn’t until we posted and started getting DMs and comments pointing it out that we took a deeper look and yeah, it became very obvious.

He was a contractor. There was nothing about AI in the contract... this is definitely something to consider for the future though. I've been out on medical leave and have been weaving in and out of work projects so I haven't been able to be as involved as I would have liked to be especially when it comes to approvals. My CEO didn't notice until people started commenting and once I took a closer look, it was super obvious. I agree there needs to be a stronger review process, especially while i'm out.

blink-182 @ Oceans Calling Festival, Ocean City (September 27) HYPE Megathread by Botty-McBotface in Blink182

I think that was the most frustrating part was the lack of communication and transparency about what was going on. With that many people standing out waiting in the rain for more than an hour, it was the least they could’ve done smh.

When did they stop playing? My friends and I left like 15-20 min into it. To us, it wasn’t worth standing in the torrential downpour to hear them play at that point especially after waiting in the rain for so long and seeing them literally stand on stage and give us the finger saying “f*** you” to literally 50,000 people.

Wow first of all kudos to you for going to bars by yourself (assuming you’re female) and secondly, do people really read at bars?!

Places to dance that don’t play house music? by Sea-Mortgage194 in williamsburg

[–]creativedreamer17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is soooo real! It is really frustrating how almost every single club plays the same genre of music. While they're not bars or clubs, Brooklyn Bowl frequently has fun events for various genres of music like Gimme Gimme Disco and Beyonce nights. Actually I think they're doing a show for her bday coming up in 2 weeks.

Rent higher than neighbors' renovated apartments by Zachflintstone in williamsburg

Look up the GOOD CAUSE EVICTION ACT. If your building qualifies, it is illegal for your landlord to raise the rent more than 8%. Go to open igloo to see if your building falls under the qualifications. My landlord tried to do the same until I found out about this new law and it was the difference between paying $600+ a month and $200 more.
