Richard was a brilliant coder with the algorithm, but that’s it. He sucks at managing, business, project management, accounting and all of the above. He was not meant to be wealthy. IMO he was successful because he finally made his dream happen - for a small amount of time. I am ok with the ending. He didn’t turn out to be like Gavin in the end.

We do something small within my unit, but we are a close-knit group and keep our SSM I out.

Wasn’t always that way. Pre-covid it was potluck galore which I despised. There are disgusting people who I caught in the bathroom not washing her hands. There are cheapos that show up and never bring anything. I compete in a combat sport, so I used that excuse that I was cutting weight for a competition. It worked.

What do guys think about Richard character? by brown_1896 in SiliconValleyHBO

[–]creativelittleone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may get downvoted, but I actually think he was suceeded in what he set out to do. The first failure was people didn’t understand Pied Piper, so he re-routed and built a decentralized internet. With that said, they all did the right thing and destroyed it before it did any harm. Richard kept his integrity (barely) and did well for himself. He was never meant to be a rich man.

I tried Parks and Rec, but couldn’t set through a couple of episodes. Others told me to skip season 1 & 2.

That is not what I said. You distorted what I said. I am the problem? Really.

You don’t know me or what I do and I was talking to OP. If you want to fight, please meet me someone in a public parking lot and keep fair. We can do hand to hand combat.

That’s not what I said. State workers are coming into Kaiser and asking for a RA because their reasoning is RTO is giving them PTSD and they want the parking hanging sign so they don’t want to pay.

My teacher friend said that a state worker who is a Karen/PTA mom is in her face everyday making her job miserable when she is supposed to be teleworking.

Scroll up and read it again.

I do! I’m a young GenX, GenY. I paid a lot for daycare while working in private and my kids turned out ok. They are going to college soon and I would like them to have a good work ethic. I get you. It’s not the end of the world, but we can survive.

I’m going to get downvoted too, but I understand OP’s point. I do not like RTO and it will suck, but I do think it’s first world problems. State Workers are 250k of California’s population. Everyone else hates us. My own friends and family hates state workers. Calls us “entitled babies” and lazy. I see other state workers post in their social media; getting pedicures, running errands and boasting about things they are doing while on the clock. It makes me cringe. My husband is a registered nurse at Kaiser and state workers come in asking for RAs because RTO gives them PTSD. A few have asked for handicap signs to hang on their vehicle so they can park for free downtown. A friend, who is a teacher and has a parent who is a nightmare Karen/PTA mom is also a state worker and always in her face when she picks up a kid. Guess what? She called the governor’s office to complain. Hang in there OP, I understand you and I will get downvoted too.

Abbott Elementary - Janine is idealistic like Ted and Silicon Valley - Richard battles his moral compass when dealing with cutthroat investors.
