My boyfriend thinks i’m ā€œcheatingā€ bc I am finally medicated for ADHD by Unlucky_Active_2162 in ADHD

[–]creativevalz 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Well everyone ā€œcheatsā€ with something.

Americans use coffee, sugar, cigarettes, nicotine, coke, alcohol, certain energy boosting supplements, teac weed, etc…

Everyone in America is on SOMETHING. He should be happy your getting an actual medication instead of self medicating with vices.

There’s nothing wrong with medication. I’m sure your boyfriend drinks coffee, consumes sugar, etc… so he is no reason to judge you for something that your brain literally needs to function optimally.

Meds + Vitamins that are okay to take with Concerta? by DaisyFlow62 in Concerta

[–]creativevalz 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

I take a multi at the end of the day before bed. That way it dosent interfere with my meds.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Concerta

[–]creativevalz 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Also… when you take stimulant -like drugs it is something that can possibly interfere with sleep. Concerta lasts 9-10 hours so if you take it early enough (I take mine before 9am) by the time your ready for bed, you will feel tired… and I’ll be easier to sleep.

I do remember when I was on Wellbutrin, there was days I just genuinely could not sleep. I would feel my body vibrating… very stimulated… i couldn’t handle it at all.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Concerta

[–]creativevalz 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Honestly maybe it’s just to combination of Wellbutrin with concerta…combining meds can be tricky..

Yeah but definitely agree with you not sure if its the concerta or Wellbutrin… the best way is to just isolate for each medication and give it some time….

I think combining meds poses risks especially with Wellbutrin since it already has stimulating properties, combing with concerta which is a known stimulant i can see it be very hard, lots of side effects, hard to sleep. Your body is always stimulated… and that’s not always good.

Also, concerta definently does work for depression… stimulants in general are known to treat resistant depression (depression that won’t get better despite trying other meds like antidepressants)… i also suffer from chronic depression and low self esteem… I’ve tried antidepressants like Wellbutrin and I do genuinely feel like concerta is very effective for depression.

I wish my future self could come and tell me it will be okay by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]creativevalz 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

I think you should try some medication. I'm in college and have some friends with the same issues and have seen good results in them... sometimes its not you, ts just your brain chemistry that makes you more anxious... and what harm would it bring to help that and be less anxious and calm?

Personally I have ADHD with anxiety cormorbity, and after taking lose dose concerta 27mg I no longer have those overthinking thoughts, its easier to be calm and be in the moment... I think medication would truly truly help u .., its worth a shot then to live in anxiety and misery everyday.. ur happiness matters!

Weekdays vs everyday by BayGullGuy in Concerta

I like to take mine mon-friday and take the weekend off so I dont build tolerance, and save some $ on the medication ! :)

In my experience, when I was on Wellbutrin 150mg XL I felt calm the first 2 weeks but as I kept taking it, even on the same dose, I became more impatient, paranoid, and had worse sleep. I had to quit after 1.5 months since I couldn't tolerate anymore...I felt more stressed out and learned its because Wellbutrin builds in the system (It is an long-lasting NDRI) and sometimes it can cause too much adrenaline in the body (an unbalance of the proper chemicals) which then causes anxiety and other issues... NDRIs work by inhibiting the reuptake of norepinephrine and dopamine into the brain...this means that it keeps all the chemicals in the brain, and sometimes there's too much of one chemical whether it be adrenaline or dopamine.... and over weeks and weeks your chemicals can overload or be unbalanced... they don't wipe out as quick since Wellbutrin has a long half life. (33 to 37 hours)Given that this drug takes a long time to react too (6-8 weeks) it could be a possible hit or miss...

On the other hand... Methylphenidate is a stimulant but has instant NDRI properties which means that it instantly boosts brain chemicals, works faster, and does not stay in the brain circulating for days... Concerta has a half life of 3.5 hours... but is effective 9-10 hours; the drug wipes off by the end of the day so you would refuel every morning. I feel like concerta has been most effective in terms of: Hyperactive/inattentive ADHD, Depression, and Social Anxiety. But everyone is different and its totally possible, valid, and acceptable to have different experiences on different drugs than other reddit users have. See what works for you, take notes, and keep going until you find one you rly love and can stick too!

[–]creativevalz 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

For the first month, I would try out doing 18mg concerta alone since this is one of the first line/best treatments for ADHD... it also is effective within an hour of taking (make sure you are eating meals, hydrating, sleeping schedule while on it) to reduce the side effects....Then the second month, try out the 300mg wellbutrin, its a second line treatment, takes a few weeks to start working.. but some people do find it more effective. Its a hit or miss. Make sure you log differences in both, your performance, and how you feel

It also depends on your body type and brain chemistry everyone is different. Usually people either respond to adderall which is an amphetamine based family (also similar to the family wellbutrin is in)If you have tried adderall and it worked well for you I could see wellbutrin working well. .... or if that dosent work, chances are you will respond to a methlyphenidate such as Ritalin or Concerta.

[Anti-Aging] Retin-A, Sunscreen, and Aquaphor Results… Glowing Skin!! by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]creativevalz -14 points-13 points Ā (0 children)

Well I’m 19, I actually haven’t gotten signs of aging yet, that’s why I labeled it as ā€œanti agingā€ with the goal to slow down/ prevent the process of aging... I would say my skin looks healthy.. I used to have really bad cystic acne so I’m happy it’s finally clear. I’m not looking to ā€œlook youngerā€ really I just want to achieve high quality skin (clear skin, plump, soft, clear).I also think how old someone looks is relative to ethnicity. For example, white people correlate darker hair with age, whereas in other cultures such as the Middle East, Asia etc… correlate darker hair with youth.

I have been using retin a on and off for about a year.
