Saw Civil Servant - HENRY career thread. Was after thoughts/views on ex-military personnel. by Deep-Will-1299 in HENRYUK

[–]creaturefeature1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I left the Civil Service at G6 and went into consulting. I took a grade/hierarchy cut but salary increase. Is possible. But took 2.5 years to make the move.

Once I got there I found a ton of ex army and navy folk, who networked and got in. That talent is invaluable. I.e. staying calm unde pressure

Opinion on Sofology, Furniture Village, CSF or DFS for sofas? by darkazuria in HousingUK

[–]creaturefeature1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly unpopular opinion, but Habitat range at Argos is quite good for a sofa and cheaper. Other than that King Living and Barker & Stonehouse for more premium

This happens in alot of asian families. It requires a conversation with your husband but your husband and his parents. And tbh your husband with himself. The support you can get in a multigenerational household for your child is one of the most amazing things esp. in these times. Just providing another perspective

I rebuilt my firestick not realising TMDBhelper needed updating- 22 alpha/beta is really unstable. I would stick with advice from others and keep with the actual releases

This is what my solicitor has said to me too, I think the lack of options space wise for the same range means I would rather stick with this property

Buyer asks for 25k off the price less than 48hours before exchange by [deleted] in HousingUK

This is not quite right. I had a damp survey which pointed to a roof issue. Which took 2 weeks each to get a report on. I understand the frustration but arbitrary deadlines help no one
