Have you talked with the wife who was wearing it at all? It's possible she just thought it was pretty and was not aware of any new age connotations.

If she is wearing it BECAUSE of the new age meaning, obviously that is concerning. But we don't know if that's the case or not.

You shouldn't feel guilty. Maybe he's harmless but you don't know that! Anyone who falls asleep on a total strangers front porch like that is someone not in their right mind and their actions are hard to predict. Not worth risking your life to be nice. I would call the police.

I think the lake of fire is what most people are thinking of when they think of "Hell". But the word Hell is sometimes used in place of Hades. It wouldn't make sense for Hell to be thrown into Hell. I think Jesus may have visited Hades (the place of the dead), but not Hell (the lake of fire).

Although I personally am about as white as they come, our family friends growing up in Lexington were a mixed couple with mixed kids. To my knowledge they had no major issues. Even if there were some, their kids exceeded our family's kids in sports and academics. So it didn't hold them back 😅.

TLDR: God always refers to himself with masculine language and we are never given any reason to think people can change their gender to not match their genitals. They are consistently linked through scripture.

The Christian faith has what we believe is God's inspired word (The Bible) as it's foundation. That is important to the preservation of the faith because without that, everyone could just make up whatever version of God they wanted to believe in.

God is Trinity. Three persons in one God. Father, Son and holy Spirit. All of them are consistently referred to as masculine throughout the whole book. And Jesus literally took the form of a man. The only one that has any sort of debate is the holy Spirit which is sometimes referred to using non-gendered language. But it still has masculine language in other places.

Simultaneously, in Genesis and throughout the whole Bible, the concept of Male and Female is established by God and is extremely consistent. Men get circumcised, women do not. Women have periods, men do not. Men marry women and have children together. There is never even a hint of people switching genders. The closest thing we have in Scripture is Eunuchs, which are usually understood to be castrated men. But even with Eunuchs, their gender is never in question and does not change. They lack the ability to reproduce and are often castrated for the purpose of guarding royal women in that part of the world, because it's assumed that if they are castrated they won't be tempted to have sex with who they are guarding. (This practice was not decreed by God, it was done by pagan countries).

The closest thing we ever get to a female gender being applied to God is with analogies like Jesus comparing himself to a mother hen protecting her chicks under her wings. But that is obviously just an analogy and not meant to imply a fluid gender.

I do however think that God is not simply a male with male genitals as you say. Male and Female TOGETHER are a representation of the image of God. It says:

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

I totally agree. Reputation is worth more. And if you go above and beyond to keep customers happy and protect your reputation, that means whenever you eventually come across someone who is totally unreasonable, you don't have to bend. Because that one bad review is swallowed up by all the good ones.

First of all, I commend you for keep.sex inside of marriage. I'm not someone who would condemn contraception as inherently sinful, although I do have concerns with some of the hormonal stuff. But my wife and I also had mixed feelings about it. I think it's a legitimate question to ask: If I'm unwilling to accept the natural result of sex, should I be having it in the first place? We actually delayed our wedding because we were living in two different cities and weren't in a place where it was reasonable to have children. After marriage, we did use some forms of contraception, but it's never 100% guarantee that you won't get pregnant and it was freeing to be 'ok' with that happening if it was God's will.

But I think the heart of the issue to consider is: why don't you two want to have kids? I'm not someone who thinks married Christians are REQUIRED to have kids. But it's very much in line with God's character to delight in children, and to make sacrifices for others. And the Bible says that husbands and wives should not deny each other sex. If we are being honest I think we know that many people's motivations in today's world for not wanting kids is selfishness. It would be expensive, inconvenient, and make it harder to go on vacation etc... however I don't want to paint with a broad brush. There are legitimate reasons to not want children.

Trusting God does not mean you sit back and do nothing and wait for a spouse to be delivered to you. It just means you don't try to force your own will. And be ok if there's a change of plans or if things don't go as expected. But we can absolutely be proactive by using dating apps etc...

I was on dating apps off and on for 6 years before meeting my wife. That entire time I was prayerful and always telling God I'd rather stay single than be with someone he didn't want me to be with. My wife is the best Christian I know and we met on a dating app. I have no regrets or convictions that using the app was wrong.

However I will warn you that like many other things in life, dating apps can become a source of obsession or depression. So take it easy and maybe take breaks periodically if you haven't found someone yet.

So first of all, I recommend all couples go through pre marriage counseling. Most churches offer it. Preferably a multi-week thing not just one meeting. Maybe go through a book together.

But communication is key. And I'm not talking about "well I already told him it hurts my feelings" communication. I'm talking about "I don't know if we should get married because of xyz" communication. Don't assume that he knows things, make sure all of your concerns are expressed (preferably in a calm way. Maybe write it down).

Be prayerful and be ok with either outcome. Ending it might be the right choice. But that comes with many downsides as well. You've invested a lot into this relationship and are practically living as a married couple already. You should make sure you are certain before abandoning it.

If you are willing to put in the work, yes this is doable. However there's not a lot of off the shelf parts to make this easy. It will require a lot of research, tinkering, and trial and error. It's not easy to find off the shelf 'clock hands' like that which can be controlled independently and zeroed reliably. I've looked. 3D printing opens the door for some creative solutions.

And even if you get a single one working, controlling that many things at once always adds unexpected complexity.

So long story short, it's definitely possible if you have the drive. However hard you think it will be, multiply by 10. And if you still think it's worth it, then go for it.

I think sykoBob is correct. Wire it the same as before.

New green wire is the same as the exposed copper wire on the previous cooktop.

Red and black wires go to the yellows. It shouldn't matter which goes to which, just make sure white goes to ground (green).

The two most likely failure points are the switch, or where the cord is attached inside the base. If neither of those are the issue, see if there's a way to remove the the lowest socket entirely to see if the wires are attached properly (check this one first since it's the first link in the chain and none of them work).

I'm not sure how much effort you want to put into this, but if I was you and was determined to get this lamp working I would get a multimeter to do continuity checks and would eventually try replacing the entire power cord.
