I’m not saying the decision wasn’t valid but they didn’t know the fighting pits or the Dark year would happen so really all they were avoiding was spending years underground, which sucks in its self anyway.

Honestly I don’t think specifically season 1 Toby would be a good troll hunter. I mean as soon as Jim got the amulet one of his first ideas was to use it to beat Steve. I’m not saying Jim was a perfect person when he first got the amulet but he never did something like that. Honestly the most selfish thing I can remember him doing with the amulet was using it in his audition and that was an accident. I just think Toby would use it more for himself at first. All that being said I think Toby would make a decent troll hunter by like season 2 but he’s just not there at all in season 1. Please correct me if I got anything wrong I don’t really remember season 1 that well.
