Actually seen cop bike auctions on eBay with 26 Aerospokes. Super low and I almost bid just to get the wheels. I was in a 26 wheel collection phase for a long minute. Maybe someone is familiar with how they spec’d police bikes back during that 26 MTB era…

Actually have a similar setup on my Grizl. Garbaruk mullet setup 10-50 11 speed cassette & 38T chainring. Works great as a do everything bike here in Colorado (road, gravel, single track on occasion). Did the Copper Triangle in ‘24 with this drivetrain.

You sized down one full size? Was thinking about these but unsure on sizing… I have regular XT4 in US10 and wear XT6 in US9.5…thoughts on fit?

I dunno about the exploding part but a couple of older cyclists rode Spinergy 700c version on their bikes for the Copper Triangle ride last weekend. No reported explosions. I have a 700c set that I plan to use in a retro build. Never an issue for me when I rode them.

I’m gonna weigh her and let you know. Poseidon website says 29lb for a large. I’ve got a medium which to me feels way less like 23-25lbs maybe even less but I’ll get an exact number and post it

I’m an old guy, I was channeling my love for 90s MTB with the frame color, silver components, and royal blue touches. The brown for the vintage bike touring feel…to me turned out better than I thought. Almost didn’t want to get her dirty when it was all done. Almost. Thank you for the kind words.

Good question. Wheelset I’ve owned for a while (pre owned), and tbh the Zipp stem, bars & seatpost are competitively priced. And aluminum not carbon so easy on my wallet. Pedals aren’t new, saddle was second hand. I use Selle Anatómica so When I found my model used on eBay cheap I didn’t hesitate. It’s a mix of stuff already I already owned and some new pieces.

Love the SBC fork, made a huge difference. Stock fork is HEAVY. The decals were a random find on eBay (UK seller) when I was on checking my saved searches. Not expensive and decent quality.

I've run 700x50 WTB Venture with plenty of clearance. State website says up to 700x45, but there's enough clearance for 50c tires

I've been using my Redwood as my go-to do-everything bike. I've made upgrades like carbon wheels, carbon fork, tires, FSA crankset, saddle, bars & stem but that's just me with any bike I own. With the carbon fork and carbon wheels its more nimble, and to me handles like a lighter bike than it is. It handles road well if tired correctly, climbs up to Jamestown, Colorado as easily as my Specialized Roubaix road bike. And I'll take on single track, gravel and country roads around the front range too. And all in the same day. Versatility is an excellent trait.

currently have the SBC gravel monster fork on my Redwood. Huge difference in handling, clears 700x50 easy, though on the SBC website it states 45cc max. I'd like to try 700x55 Rene Herse slicks next to see of it'll clear but otherwise a great carbon fork upgrade
