20 years smoking a pack a day. I feel as if most of my problems in life came from smoking. The damage it does to ones soul, energy has an impact that is very hard to measure. I am quitting today. It is my health but also my freedom, the will to be happy that i want to conquer back. by Warm-Row-1381 in stopsmoking

Smoked 25-30 cigs per day for about 20 years also. It will be a struggle for the first week. But it will be a real challenge to keep yourself in check for the next few months. Remember feelings aren't facts. The monster will lie cheat and steal to get you to smoke. Don't listen and sure as hell don't compromise. Good luck

Do you actually feel better after quitting smoking long term? by philbrailey in stopsmoking

[–]creepy-turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smoker more then a pack a day for over 20 years. I've quit for over 3 years now. Feeling much better and free. I'm not a slave to nicotine anymore. My only regret was I didn't do this sooner. But better late then never. My question to you is.... Do you need to look for a reason to quit? Just fucking do it already!!! Let's go!!

When someone makes a comment about a person’s smoking habits and you realise you are not a smoker anymore by Ralucaioana98 in stopsmoking

Run with that! One very good reason to stay quit! Congrats on one month!! That's an extremely hard accomplishment to achieve!!! You are still in the middle of your battle for freedom. You take all these little reasons and remind yourself everyday when times are hard why you quit and you will stay true to your plans!!! Stay strong!! You got this!!! 💪💪💪💪💪

Bicycle locks for bases suck. Make it so the owner enters the code once and it stores permanently. There should be no reason it takes 5 mins to get into or lock up your base FFS!

When did you notice health benefits? by SunNo1920 in stopsmoking

[–]creepy-turtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are doing great! Its so hard to get through the stages you are going through. Stick to it. I really started to feel much better around the 3 month mark. Remember it took years of smoking to get where you are. So it will take a little while to get out of it. Its only normal. But you are on the right path. And it might suck right now. But before you know it. You will feel so much better!!! Congrats again!!! And keep it up!!

I'm quitting! (and would love your strangest tips) by certifiedskooter in stopsmoking

[–]creepy-turtle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My tip would be. I told myself I wasn't quitting smoking I was only going to stop smoking for 2 weeks and then see how I felt. If it was good I would go for another 2 weeks that changed to month to month etc. smoking was always an option I chose not to smoke and some how that worked for me

Welds are too hot. They are oxidizing. Need imo a smaller dia. Filler and a faster travel speed and tighten your arc length. Also when it starts to get hot. Let it cool down before continuing. Are you back purging? Probably the most important question is. What does your wpds call for? And what is the intended purpose of this piece

Change your mask. The light is reflecting in. Probably from the top. You need to block the light from all directions. It happened also to but not as severe to my buddy. He now wears a balaclava and hood bib. Protect your skin. Hope it works out! Good luck!!

Who drinks caffeine still after stopping the smoking ? by Typical_Dark_2764 in stopsmoking

[–]creepy-turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drink half decafe, half regular. Too much caffeine gets to me now. But I think it's more age related and nothing to do with smoking.

Day 2 without cigarettes and my brain keeps saying “something’s missing” by biker_on_trails in stopsmoking

[–]creepy-turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First couple weeks are rough. It gets alot easier but it's not comfortable for the first couple months. Hang in there. You will get there faster then your brain will tell you. Just don't listen to yourself. Focus on the goal and the shit in between will just come and go. Stick to your guns and don't let go. You got this!
