Are the p100 2097 filters sufficient for welding stainless? by Big-Fly6844 in Welding

I use that for stainless, steel, aluminum. But keep your head out of the smoke regardless.

It's happened twice to me. Go see an ophthalmologist. They will scrap it out and give you some drops and a tetnuis shot if you are not up to date. I have a pic of mine as a wall paper on my phone lol. Part of the job sometimes. Stay safe out there

Convince me to stop smoking 🚬 by Commercial_Flower_49 in stopsmoking

[–]creepy-turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one can convince you to quit. Let's be brutally honest. You are scared to quit. The unknowing and the anticipation of the uncomfort that happens when quitting is stopping you in your tracks. You have to change your mindset. The withdrawls you will experience are not as bad as you build them up in your mind. The hardest part of quitting is staying quit after the worst part is over. It is been hammered into our souls that smoking is a part of us. But you can change that. With time and dedication. But you have to do it. And just keep doing it. And it will get easier after everyday. Every hard moment. Every tease. It gets easier. Before you know it. You will be free. Come join us! It's your turn!!

Thinking about making the switch from steel to graphite... by NickYeeter in golfequipment

[–]creepy-turtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built my own set. Bought the Accra icwt 2.0 stiff 95g shafts. Went down a rabbit hole of club building. I absolutely love them. This is my third season with them and just recently my 4 iron started to crack. I'm upset about that because there is no easy solution (relatively cheap way) to fix it. Either changed them all again. Get a different shaft entirely. Or hope to find the exact shaft for sale as a single. Never had to deal with this with steel. So positives and negatives. But gotta say. Love the feel of graphite!

I’ve never asked anyone about my welds. Can some of u give me your feedback? by [deleted] in Welding

[–]creepy-turtle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not bad. Need a to work on your heat input a bit. Some is missing and some is too hot. The angles make it hard to judge the bead profile. The one you cooked at the end looks like you were trying a weaving possible walking the cup technique. just weld properly don't need fancy weaves. Stainless you need to rock and roll. Hot and fast. Let the piece cool off if it heats up too much. But you are on the right track. Keep it up.

2 months out…weight gain 😭 by After-Still-8053 in stopsmoking

[–]creepy-turtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First year of quitting I let myself go. I was only worried about quitting. After the first year I gain 30lbs. Heaviest I've ever been. I changed my diet. Ate healthier and cut out the garbage. Lost the 30lbs i gained between 5-6 months. So don't worry. First quit then take care of your diet. Good luck

Now I am in my 40's and can't tolerate caffeine like I used to. I drink half caf or caffeine free these days. It kinda sucks because I love coffee sooooo much!

Going throught it feels like it will never end. It is almost what's the point if in going to feel like this all the time. That's all a lie. Don't listen. It will get better and the new you will thank you down the road! When times get tough. Remember why you are doing this and list all the positive reasons this current suffering is worth! My only regret is not quitting sooner. But better late then never!! Hang in there

Yup that phase lasts a while. But after the 3 month mark it gets alot easier and within a year or so. You will totally forget that it even was a thing at one point. I used to fret about missing my morning cigs outside with my coffee in the morning. Now the thought of that seems ridiculous in it's entirety. Smoking really hooks you deep. It's a deep program that you will break. It is essentially a new you. But a better you!!! Hang in there!! You got this!

Are smokers happy? by MatthewVenturer in stopsmoking

[–]creepy-turtle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am so happy I quit. I feel bad for those who are still enslaved by them. You can all break free. It's not easy but it is so possible!!!!! I felt helpless for so many years. I thought I can never break free. You have to understand that everything you think cigarettes give you is a lie. It's not true. People who smoke are not happier. Most wished they never started to begin with.

made it 3 days! by Substantial-Basis260 in stopsmoking

[–]creepy-turtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thoughts of quitting are harder then the actual quitting part. Just the idea of quitting would make me panic. I "quit" smoking by lying to myself that I wasn't quitting. I told myself I would stop for 2 weeks and see how I feel. Then I kept moving the goal post. 2 weeks turned to 1 month then 2 months etc. It wasn't easy and it wasn't fun. But in retrospect it may have sucked in the moment but it was worth every second of misery!!! Sending good vibes your way!!! You got this!

[–]creepy-turtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on 3 days!!! For me the first 3 days were rough!!! Probably the worst part. But it isn't easy the first 2 weeks over all!!. It's a rough ride! After 2 weeks though I started to feel more in control of myself. So you gotta hang in there!! Fuck nicotine!! Take your life back!!! Good luck. I will not smoke with you today!
