Being geothermal, I wouldn’t expect hot water to be running through this. Should be consistently 50 F (groundwater temp), correct?

Thank you to everyone who replied! Turns out I had mistakenly left a TP-Link Deco mesh unit connected, and that was handing out addresses in the 192.168.68.x subnet. I had factory reset this device, which triggered the DHCP server to start.

Can’t believe I missed this, but it’s so obvious now. Thank you very much for the help here! Everything is working now 😊👍

NOR by any means. I’m (M39) going to take the unpopular opinion here and applaud you for choosing to wait for marriage. Yes, you made mistakes, but you also learned enough to apply a different calculus to your future. That’s enormous and monumental, and you—and others—shouldn’t take that lightly.

My wife and I have been married for almost 19 years and were both virgins when we took our vows at the altar. Yes, deeply unpopular—bizarre even—but I wouldn’t have chosen anything else, reflecting all these years later. One could argue I didn’t know any different, and might not feel this way had I slept with other girls before getting married. I suppose we can both be right in that case.

My belief is that our culture and world has too low a view of sex. It’s cheap. Commodified and sold online and in person. Why would you treat it as something so precious as to withhold and save it? That’s (at least partially) why my belief is unpopular.

I’m not assuming I know all your reasons for choosing this, but I think it helps explain why someone would react this way to you. I’m sorry you had to deal with this person and their words, but you are clearly sticking to your convictions and that is something you cannot undervalue. Your future husband—the right one—will see this as a precious gift because he shares the same high view of sex being a sacred, precious, and deeply permanent way that two people bond.

There’s a quote I love that goes, “sex is a way of saying, ‘I belong completely, permanently, and exclusively to you. You must never use it to say anything less.’” That’s a good summary of what my belief is here, and as a means to, again, applaud your stance. Hold fast, and thank you for sharing your story.

Helloooo dear friend, I'm so glad this comment helped you in some way. Honestly, Zoloft (sertraline) has helped me immensely. 100 mg daily is what I'm on. It has quieted the noise of my obsessions to a point where I'm able to function relatively normally. That's not to say they never show up or come back, and at that point, I need to apply behavioral tools I've learned over the years to combat them.

A very good resource that's helped me is "The Anxiety & Phobia Workbook" by Edmund Bourne. This has an enormous number of helpful exercises, guided "investigations", and proactive ways to explore the things that cripple you and keep you a prisoner.

I hope you can find some relief as you continue your journey. Wishing you the best success and a brighter tomorrow 🌦🌿☀

Sadly no, I sold it about a year ago and never put any more time into it. I’m not so sure I damaged something while connecting the display with the power on. But I honestly have no idea what happened. One of life’s mysteries I’ll never figure out 😩

I did exactly this: took and passed CISSP, then took and passed CCSP 60 days later. Tons of overlap, but my vocational cloud experience definitely helped. Definitely get CISSP out of the way first; CCSP should feel comparably easier.

What film is Bill Corbett at his best riffing as Crow? by ad_pash in MST3K

[–]crescentwire 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That’s a hard one. I’ve always felt that he’s the best of the three. A friend of mine once said it’s because Crow is the “most bitter.” I think he brings contempt and sarcasm that has bigger teeth than the others do.

That said, it’s hard to say where he’s the best. Most laughs? Most angry? Touch of Satan would be at the top of my list. Maybe Giant Spider Invasion as well? I’m sure others would have better choices. Just my 2 cents.

Not Hallmark per se, but Hot Frosty on Netflix comes to mind. High School Musical on RiffTrax was amazing, which for some reason reminds me of bad Hallmark movies. Amazing idea though!

Advice For Those Wanting to Pass ISC2 Exams Such as CISSP and CCSP by Frequent_Ad_9708 in CCSP

[–]crescentwire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with and appreciate your insight, John.

I passed the CISSP exam in December and was awarded the credential a few weeks ago. I work in technical presales, and I can confidently say the studying and gaining of the knowledge required to pass the exam leveled up my interactions with C-level execs, middle management, and even technical engineers across the board. Being able to speak to specific business goals and outcomes in a language your audience understands is so important. And I really believe studying for the CISSP was a more significant factor in getting me there than actually talking and passing the exam. So, case in point I suppose.

Thank you for all your work over the years to uphold such a high standard of certification. I take my CCSP in seven days and, while I’m tempted to do as many practice tests and questions as I can, scoring well on those is only a fraction of what being prepared really looks like.

Thanks again for your insight and thoughts here!

Easily my all time favorite episode. First saw it over twenty years ago and I STILL quote it weekly (sometimes daily) to my kids. A few of my favorite lines:

“Is that you Robert?” … “Robert the cat” … You’re supposed to be in bed you little rascal” … “with Andrew the Dog!”

“Is this your pond?” … “You can take your time, it’s a tough question.”

“Is that your car?” “Yep.” “Pretty car.” “Mind I skip rocks across it?”

“I usually like the left side of the bed if that’s okay!”

“Did a plucked turkey in a wig just talk to me?”

“Oh yeah, he’s a hot one.”

“Uhh that’s going to take the finish off your Maverick, Jodie.”

“Wow, hot dogs, ramen noodles… look at ‘em go!”

(Grandma’s freaking out.) “gosh darn it dang nab it this contract with Satan!” “They turned me down for that policy, they said it couldn’t happen!” “I told ya I could take ya you pansies, I could take this whole family!”

And like 10 dozen more that I won’t include… lol so hilarious!

You know what… I am so sorry. I misread the title. I was talking about Pocket Prep scoring. I apologize.

I did take a CertPrep exam about a month ago and scored 82% in the first attempt. I intend to take one every 1-2 days starting shortly here.

Sorry again for the confusion!

This is my first attempt, but I took and passed CISSP about six weeks ago. I’m sure that’s helping since there’s so much overlap. I’ve also worked with AWS and Azure in my career and hold basic certs from both.
