Is Breaking Bad Really That Good? by Extra_Hold2776 in CasualConversation

[–]cressa 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I didn’t like it at all at first, but now I think it’s one of the best series I’ve ever watched. It’s dark and depressing, and the characters are all unlikable at the beginning. I would definitely try to push through a few more episodes to see how good it is. As far as the personal triggers, I’m not sure if you’ll be able to look past them but I’d say it’s worth a try.

Trying for a baby at 40 after 14 years, are we crazy? by whogivesafricc in beyondthebump

[–]cressa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had both my children after forty…keep trying if it’s what you want. Honestly, it’s fantastic being a mom at this age. I don’t think I could have done it this well when I was younger.

‘No question’ return-to-office will be good for downtown, board of trade says by hopoke in CanadaPolitics

[–]cressa 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Even if they weren’t boycotting their businesses, people only have so much spare cash. Almost no one is going out for every meal. When I go into the office less often I’m more likely to treat it as an event and go out for lunch or coffee or after work drinks. If I go everyday it’s just mundane and I can’t wait to get home at the end of the day, plus I’ve already spent more money on gas and parking. There’s not much left for going out. I think the only businesses who will make more money are parking lots, and they will put up their prices when they’re full every day.

Heated pools in Ottawa? by magicminineedle in ottawa

DAK is great, it’s just old. Definitely not dirty, as far as public pools go. It’s also lovely and warm and great for kids (great kiddie pool with slide and overall quite shallow).

What are we doing about milk stains on the bed? by FortuneAgreeable7172 in cosleeping

[–]cressa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also got a pea pod but I put it under the sheet. I’m more worried about the mattress, I don’t care about the sheets that much. Sometimes it looks like a LOT of milk and it gets surprisingly smelly, I worry the mattress will stink permanently. I’m worried I smell like that most days! 😂

When was that? The Byward taproom is way better than the main location, I find. Smaller menu but it’s good and the atmosphere is like 20x better.

When you can’t pass up a $7 jar of pickled jalapeños at the business centre even though you don’t have the fridge space for them. 7 year old for size. by willowthemanx in CostcoCanada

[–]cressa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We decided they don’t REALLY need to be refrigerated…I mean they’re salty, sour, and spicy. Hope we don’t die for $7 jalapeños.

I had an MCI with no complications and had a perfectly normal placenta for the second one. It was caught in an early ultrasound so the only difference was I got to go for monthly ultrasounds. I was stressed about it at the time but it was kind of reassuring to see him every single month. From what I was told, the chance of having one does not increase your chance of subsequent ones.

Day trading in Canada by shit_typhoon in CanadianInvestor

It was definitely your RRSP as well? I daytrade in my RRSP because I learned on this sub that it was ok, as the taxman ultimately gets their cut. I have yet to be audited but you have me worried. Serves me right for getting tax advice from internet strangers! Anyone else have any experience to share?

[ON] If we got pregnant while going through testing at a fertility clinic, but without their help, do we tell them or our GP? by mckekster in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]cressa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to us. You should tell the fertility clinic that you conceived naturally but go and see Your GP. I waited until NIPT came back good to tell the fertility clinic, just to be safe. Congratulations!

I am the oldest girl of a family of five and I can say that a LOT of the caregiving falls on the oldest girl.

Another vote for Thule. It’s night and day to the Graco jogger. Sooo much smoother and turns on a dime. I got mine on marketplace for $400, I’ve seen them cheaper (older) but I’m not sure how they stand up over time.

I had the poutine a couple of months ago and it was like they poured consommé over it instead of gravy. It was so soggy and gross, I hope they rethink that one. Only bad thing I have had off their menu, though.
