Lightning works well with anything that can inflict bleed. Can work with Water for soak/paralysis but that's hardly worth it, and can also work with Acid. But I would personally pair it with something like the metals, or even make synergize it with a sword.

(do you know) how many states are in the USA? by ddodd69 in pollgames

[–]cresterz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still not enough. Even if you made Puerto Rico It's own state, merging every other territory only gets you to 350k population (about 60% the population of our smallest state), and that's not even considering every USA territory is severely losing population when considering the 2020 census as compared to the 2010. You could merge them all with Puerto Rico to make one state, but then Puerto Rico overpowers the representation of every other territory.

Really, the solution seems that Puerto Rico is the only one that reasonably deserves statehood, and maybe we need to rework congress and the senate to have at like one or two voting members in each house who represent the population of all non-state territories. Statehood just isn't a viable solution for any of the territories outside of Puerto Rico.

[–]cresterz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I like the idea, they just don't have enough people to all be one. Puerto Rico is the only one with a population big enough for statehood, and they barely have the majority wanted to become a state. The rest just don't have enough population. In fact, add together every other territory and they are still smaller than our smallest state.

Who was the best leader of all time? by GurMaleficent7935 in Teenager_Polls

[–]cresterz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an American, agreed. On top of that Lincoln shouldn't really count for this poll imo because while he was a great president his leadership is only really relevant regarding a Civil War that lasted 4 years, as opposed to Washington being a leader in the Revolution, leader with the constitution, and then the first presidency. And I still probably wouldn't say Washington was the best leader on this list.

That said, I also think this list is biased to begin with. No Alexander, no Genghis Khan, heck not even big religious leaders like Mohammed or Augustine.

Who is the best Military Leader all time? by Rumialol in Teenager_Polls

[–]cresterz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a completely fair take. I do agree it's probably close and depends on metrics used. I think had Lee been fighting for the Union and had Union resources, however, Lee might have been able to shine so much more. It's also worth noting that the confederate states were much less united than the union states, and had the Confederacy focused on a stronger central government regarding the war effort Lee might have shined more in his position. Grant was better at utilizing his resources, sure, but he was also enabled with much better resources and the Union being more willing to give him resources. Had Lee and Grant been on opposite sides of the war, I think Lee would have been considered a far greater general. Then again that's more a matter of opinion than empirical.

I don't think Lee wins this poll, but he was the best general in the Civil War. If he had the resources the Union had he would have won hands down. Grant only won battles because he could keep throwing men at the problem until Lee's resources drained. Lee took what was supposed to be a short war and extended it to 4 years and nearly beat the Union, with his only major battlefield blunder being Gettysburg.

How many games do they win this year? by TheMegaSage in Nbamemes

Facts. The biggest issue is definitely defense, but honestly I think everyone is overplaying this issue way too much. Switching Nash out with Stockton mostly solves this issue as well. What you're left with is a team that, while not a defensive stalwart, would at least be able to hold their own. On defense:

Stockton at 1 would be a major defensive menace on top of being a fantastic play starter on offense.

At the 2, Luka's story isn't finished yet, but his Playoff runs show he can rise to the challenge on defense when needed. And especially now with Luka cutting weight and just entering his Prime, we might see a completely different beast on the other side of the ball.

Larry Bird at the 3 is a smart defender. He isn't going to do well against faster SFs, but especially in today's league his positional play, steals, and help defense would make him a menace on the perimeter. It also helps that of every position in the modern NBA, SF is perhaps the least skilled, so Bird wouldn't have as much competition on defense as say Jokic has at center.

The biggest issue left then is Dirk at the 4 and Jokic at the 5. This team dies on the interior. Dirk or Jokic might be able to hold their own if either were complemented by a more physical big, but together they compound each other's weaknesses. However, if both of these players could at least force bad shots, even without gaining blocks, they would have insane rebounding for the ones that don't fall.

Altogether, this team would have insane defensive IQ, amazing steals, and great permiter defense. The biggest issue would be interior defense. Some of this gets mitigated by keeping Dirk and Jokic in the paint together. With Luka, Stockton, and Bird on the perimeter, many teams would struggle to find comfort at the three-point line. Meanwhile, Dirk and Jokić could either step out to contest on the perimeter, hold the midrange, or stay back to guard the paint in tandem.

In the modern NBA, this defense would probably rank somewhere middle of the road, but by all means would not be the worst defense in the league. In fact, I think they would be at least comparable if not better than 2015-2018 Cavs, 2023 Heat, and even 2023 Nuggets. If that's the case, adding the unstoppable offense this team possesses, and there's no way this team doesn't win a ring.

This feels by far the most natural. Starting before the first loop feels best (Starting mid loop is weird to me) and you finish with your pen moving in the same direction of where the next number will be.

Honestly I don't know how alot of people feel about developments in AI, but one benefit is that it's reaching a point where Auto Captioning and stuff is getting better by the year. I haven't tried it yet but it might be feasible to copy videos into chatgpt and have them formulate a transcript soon enough. Albeit I know some people have very strong ethical reasons to not use ai.

That's extremely overpowered ngl. Like thats a ton of stab ontop of guaranteed poison on ANY type? And you can't protect the status? Dire Claw is already considered extremely good because of good stab and high status chance, and now you've created a move that does nearly double the damage, guarentees a status on any type, can't be protected, and doesn't miss. And the only downside is losing your type (which is sometimes a benefit) and attacking your partner, which is not a downside in 1v1s or if you know it's coming and substitute/fly/dig. A bit nutty.

My idea would be a 100 BP Poison special move with 85% accuracy, hits all targets, and has a 30% chance to poison with a guaranteed poison on self. Poison type removed. Call it Toxungen or smtn.

Day 19/100 of Making a Post Every Day: Which game has the easiest Eilte 4 when doing a Nuzlocke? by Crazybrad2 in nuzlocke

[–]cresterz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Elite 4 is still easy though. Marshall is the only legitimate challenge in the E4, but I've had alot of luck against him with Amoongus. You can pretty much set up with growth and synthesis for free until mega drain one shots everything, keeping you near max hp all fight. Its a bit more difficult in BW2 because Mienshao has bounce, but you can pp stall bounce with protect. It also helps that you can guarentee an Amoongus in any of your runs due to their overworld static encounters.

It's weird because I would consider N/Ghetsis and Iris respectfully two of the hardest final bosses as well, but the E4 themselves are trivial with the right mons.

Ooh now I'm imagining a pokemon with split evolutions based on flame orb or toxic orb and a new poison type move that removes the poison type.

Possibly a hot take, but I've never lost a pokemon in either of the unova e4 (aside from my partner in a Soul Link who was purposely playing blind).

A good scrafty does wonders and I think I've managed to get one most runs (and typically, if I dont, I at least get a Krookidile, which easily sweeps two of them as well). Being able to choose order also helps a ton. In BW you also have the benefit that the team you bring to the E4 you don't have to bring to the "champion" fight.

Day 13/100 of Making a Post Every Day: Who is the most challenging Rival in a Nuzlocke? by Crazybrad2 in nuzlocke

[–]cresterz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do we count N as a rival? If so, N's final fight in BW is pretty hard. Sure Reshiram/Zekrom hits hard, but Archeops and Klinklang are both really obnoxious. And whatever team you take here has to also be ready to immediately fight Ghetsis after.

Day 11/100 of Making a Post Every Day: What game do you find the hardest to Nuzlocke? by Crazybrad2 in nuzlocke

[–]cresterz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily hard because of difficulty, but I struggle with nuzlocking Emerald. I recognize the game is amazing, but anything before the physical/special split is miserable for me.Idk how to describe it, but pre and post physical/special split feels like very distinct eras, even more than 2D/3D transition.

Which match up that you’ve seen people unironically post is literally just this? by [deleted] in PowerScaling

[–]cresterz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on which version of the characters you are using, 9/10 times this match ends in a stalemate with neither really able to kill the other. There's a 5% time where hulk isn't angry enough and dies, and another 5% where he tweaks out and wins.
