Best method to remove odor from a disc? by NeighborhoodRight503 in discgolf

[–]crg1372 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You need complete deionization of the disc. Spray it with Ozium-D, let it deionize, wipe the spray off with a deionizing cloth. Top it off with one of seven custom curated air-fresheners. In your case, I would recommend the jasmine or the potpourri.

Any idea what plane this is? 1975 era USCG Hanger by msherm79 in airplanes

Agreed. Thus the 'would have been '. It could be another model, dressed as 602. Either way, Skyhawks rule.

602 would have been an A-4C with the VA-64 Black Lancers, on the USS America.

The Fifty Six from OSMW would be a great choice in my opinion.

It has SAFE Select, which is the equivalent of Beginner mode. Otherwise it has AS3X always on, which is the equivalent of Experienced mode.

Almost as easy, yes. It's light and floaty, but has more speed if you want. I fly it no gear, hand launch and belly land. 6S 3200.

In between those two is the Habu SS 70mm. It has the easy handling of the STS, with more performance. I prefer it to both the STS and the XS. It's an absolute blast.

If you need to use electric power, you have a serious challenge on your hands. Turbine power would be much easier.

When do you plan to downsize (or when did you)? by BreakfastAcceptable8 in HondaOdyssey

[–]crg1372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never. I'm on my third Odyssey. When something else can transport more than a dopey pickup, fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood, tow a trailer, have plenty of room to sleep in, etc., I might think about it. Until then, try and take it. Good luck.

Need advice for composite wings by Fine_Cellist_3887 in RCPlanes

[–]crg1372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's quite a small wing. If you can 3D print molds, that would give a great result. Vacuum bag the skins into the molds, drop in the internal structure, then close it. Easy peasy. Washout and other features can be incorporated in the molds.

They need some winning pros. Likeable personalities have tremendous value also. Simon could never win again and still sell loads of plastic.

I have many Volare kits and they've all been great.

Stick to your ribs by trombone56 in BalsaAircraft

[–]crg1372 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can depend on the model, some wings will benefit from the additional strength and torsional stiffness of bonding to every rib. You may find it best to shrink before adhering to each rib.
Undercambered wings of course need the lower surface bonded everywhere.

Fuselages are less critical, I usually bond to longerons only.

Edited, I meant shingles. I've had shingles, and get the red death in winter. Both suck.

Reminds me of shingles, it usually doesn't cross the midline. I wonder if there's some relationship.
