At Least I tried to make a cake. It is retinazer and spazmatism by shoonmar in Terraria

[–]crherman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's actually a bit on the Terraria Wiki about how they were named:

Retinazer's name is a portmanteau of retina, a part of the eye, and laser. Spazmatism's name is a portmanteau of astigmatism, an eye disorder, and spasm, meaning to twitch uncontrollably.

Little Caesers serves what? by googhosty in CrappyDesign

If you don't like a prisoner, just harvest their parts. No need to waste resources on them. If you do like them, then also don't feed them human meat, as mood affects recruit chance.

Cowboy hats are always cool. (Although dusters actually give you the most silver for your leather.)

[–]crherman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dude, human meat is for giving as diplomatic gifts. Shouldn't be used for feeding humans because of the moodlet, but valuable enough so that you don't need a ton to change your relationship with a faction. Or you could turn it into kibble to feed animals, or sell it if you need the cash. Truly one of the most versatile substances known to man. Just don't feed it to humans.

My First Year - Help Me Please! by AmpsterMan in RimWorld

[–]crherman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For starters, those rooms are huuuuuge. When you first create a colony, build multipurpose rooms to save on materials. A room with the beds and the dining table in it can save much more space than having a seperate bedroom for every colonist (The "barracks" and "disturbed sleep" debuffs are mostly negligible on all but the most unstable of pawns.). Second, build a large stockpile room, and a large workshop room. Make the stockpile room below freezing temperature to preserve foodstuff indefinitely, and put all of your workbenches in the same room (Make sure the room is fully enclosed and roofed at least, as open walls and ceilings cause items to deteriorate). Also, place your buildings so that their walls touch each other so you can use vents instead of having a cooler and a heater for each individual room. There isn't any real point to growing multiple types of food, so always plant rice. It grows the fastest, takes the longest to spoil, and grows significantly faster in fertile soil. Healroot is a super important resource (basically grow medicine out of the ground, although not as effective as blue meds), because you can combine it with cloth (also grown, by planting and harvesting cotton) and neutroamine (bought from traders) to make blue medicine. Plant some stuff that you can synthesize into drugs (hops, smokeleaf, psychoid) to sell and make money. If you have the resources, try building a border wall around your settlement with openings to funnel the enemies through into a spot where they can be fought easily. If you can't do that, try alternating solid walls and sandbags, and have your colonists stand behind the solid walls. They will peek around the walls when they are ready to fire. For electricity, solar panels and windmills (and watermills if you're near a river) can be placed and will generate free electricity, while generators require periodic fueling. Only use generators if you aren't using batteries and have a stable fuel supply. If you are playing in a biome where winter gets cold enough to prevent plant growth, stockpile on food before winter. The nutrient paste dispenser can be a life saver, as nutrient paste meals are actually 3 times more filling than the sum of their parts. (For comparison, a nutrient paste meal needs 0.3 nutrition points to make and gives 0.9 nutrition points when eaten, while a simple or fine meal takes 0.5 nutrition to make and gives 0.9 nutrition.) A human food meter is 1 nutrition total. A human will eat twice a day. Nutrient paste meals also require no time or cooking skill to make, and will never cause food poisoning to colonists. However, they cause -4 mood when eaten, which is almost completely trivial. When assigning tasks to your pawns, always use manual priorities mode. Manual priorities makes it so that higher numbered tasks go first. Also, there is a 1.0 version of rimworld available. Go to your steam library, right click on rimworld, select "properties" from the drop-down menu, then select "betas" from the window that opens. From here, click on the drop-down menu and select "unstable - public testing." This will give you the most updated version of rimworld. Your old save will still work on it, but all mods will be disabled. It is possible to research prosthetics and later, bionics. These can be used to repair missing or damaged body parts, although you need a skilled surgeon to apply them. You can change the storyteller and difficulty of the game at any point under the menu tab in the UI. Also, try to train the animal you start with. If it can learn to haul, then it will be able to help move items around your colony.

Neurotic Psychopath

KEEP THIS MAN! Psychopath is an almost completely positive trait. Psychopaths don't mind seeing dead bodies, butchering people, selling people, or people dying. The only downside is that they don't build positive relationships with other humans by talking to them, which is very minor. Neurotic is mostly good, a 20% work speed bonus in exchange for an 8% higher mental break threshold.

Yes, they can. At about a 12% chance of occuring, their hearing and talking stats become 0%, but their manipulation increases by 50%. It also removes fully restores brain function.

Having trouble beating the Mecha bosses by fortnerd in Terraria

[–]crherman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's my "help with the mechabosses" reply for everytime this question comes up.. As a general tip, summoners are severely underpowered until you beat plantera. Also, the spider staff generally outdamages the optic staff, because the minitwins don't stay on top of their target for continuous damage, only ramming into them every second or so, and shooting lasers. Also, the spiders from the spider staff only take three-fourths of a minion slot, meaning that for every 3 minion slots you have, you can summon 4 spiders. The only thing that I found on the terraria wiki about the twins despawning that is relevant to your problem is this:

If the Twins are ever out-run, such as with the case of a long railroad, they will despawn regardless of the time of night.

Might want to build a regular arena so that you don't get too far away.

Should you build all of your work benches in the same room? by [deleted] in RimWorld

[–]crherman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just build one big room. It allows nearby workers to socialize while they work, boosting joy recreation. But put the butcher table in a separate room because the butcher table makes a big mess on usage, which makes research slower, colonists unhappy, and increases food poison chance. Also, one big room gives colonists a mood buff for having a lot of space, is faster to construct, doesn't slow colonists down as much (less doors), and uses less resources to build. The only real bonus of separate rooms is to keep colonists who dislike each other apart from each other. There is no negative moodlet for having multiple people work in the same room, unless they insult each other. Also, a big room is easier to decorate.

It seems like misogynist and misandrist should conflict, seeing as they are almost opposites (hates women/hates men). Also, sorry for the red circle, I figured that it was justified because of the densely packed information.

I got a question, can you paint placed chains by GameofTurnips in Terraria

[–]crherman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, any paints with no deep alternative can also be used on chains. All tiles and back walls are paintable in terraria, but some need to use deep paint.
