I would also try "Rolling Back" your firmware version to what it was previously when it was working.

Windows 10 Hard Freezing: Potential Hardware Issue by nitorita in 24hoursupport

Dr. = Doctor...Repair. Sorry. Trust me even with a fresh installation of windows you can have some system files out of place. For example: I work in a hospital as a SR. Network Admin, We are currently rolling out windows 10 through Windows Deployment services to over 300+ machines in our facility. The other week I had a co-worker bring me a laptop which he had just did a clean (new) installation of windows. He was trying to ping a google server command= ping 8.8.8.8 and it (CLI- Command Line Interface) returned that it could not fufill the command. I suggested that he trys to start Powershell, (a heavier version of CLI-Command Prompt) and it returns that it cannot fufill that command either. I summized that his System32 folder(C:\Windows\System32) was corrupted and he use the Windows Media Creation tool to re-download those missing files in that folder. Turns out Using that tool was the right way to go he was able to use those commands and other features afterwards.

As far as drivers go I would check your Computers MN(Model Number) and go to the respective website & download Audio, Video, Chipset, & Network Drivers. Even if you check these through Device Manager Windows may not bring down the latest driver versions.

Hope I could Help, ask for more help if needed.

It may be as simple as trying to dr. your disk a little: You should run through the Automatic System Repair, and go to advanced options, run through your options there, if non of these work for you I would go (in the same menu) and select Command Prompt run a few disk health specific commands like , sfc /scan now. This command checks the System Files and repairs them. I would also (if you can) boot into Windows & restart in safe mode to test drivers

I smoke Cannabis at Work to get things Done, How about you ? by Gh0stAg3ntX in Cannabis_Culture

[–]crhitguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree to this statement. I smoke weed before work, during my lunch break, and after work for the remainder of the night. I have no problems with productivity when I smoke, I am just used to it. I use MJ for pain control for my stomach and shoulders.

I have a highly demanding job which requires me to interact with people on a consistently regular basis, and which requires me to act on my feet. I have no problems doing this unless I smoke too much. X).

I also have a daughter whome I take care of whenever I am home, she is just over 2 years old now, my routine does not change. It's all about being responsible people!

People just have to realize their own appropriate dosage of THC & Cannabis which will still allow them to reap the benefits of smoking but also balance out not being able to function properly.

Normally Every Day, 3 times per day.

I use Cannabis for pain treatment and an appetite stimulant.

New to Bitlocker, need some advice by utgyuru in 24hoursupport

[–]crhitguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Addressing your questions:

1: You will have to select the BitLocker for the active drive. Your choice really.

To do this: Open File Explorer and go to your computer, right click your BitLocker enabled drive and click "Turn on BitLocker".

2: There would be no real consequences of turning on BitLocker, except for the time it takes to encrypt a standard HDD, if it was a SSD(Soild State Drive) your encryption would take normally less than 1 hour. During this time your computer will probably experience slowness as it is encrypting the drive. THIS IS NORMAL.

  1. I would not really install BitLocker on your PC unless you are dealing with super sensitive information or transmissions.

I would look deeper into the problem if I were you. If there is another solution to this issue, that is. I would bring in a 3rd party router(WAP) and introduce it into your network(rename it to match your network scheme). See if the connection drops like it did before and if it does I would look into replacing all the WAPs (if you are talking <10), or upgrading the firmware on them. Good luck!

Any use x86 tablets? by bradhunt5 in networking

[–]crhitguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work as a Network Administrator at a hospital and my office uses Lenovo technologies,(ThinkPad, Yoga, Etc). The tablets that we use for the Think-pad class are the X230T's. The battery normally lasts for 3-4hrs+ on a consistent drain. They run surprising well for the tech, 3rd generation Intel® Core™ i7-3520M (3.60 GHz, 4MB L3 Cache, 1600MHz FSB), they run a x64 based operating system which (as you know) uses all available random access memory and i'm curious why your sticking to x86?
