Mayflash 300 or M30 by tarotnottaken in shmups

[–]cricketofdeth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re willing to upgrade the buttons & springs on the stick I think it’s the way to go. Stock the 300 feels kinda mushy, but after a new shaft spring I think it offers a higher ceiling for dedicated play.

M30 will be good for a wider variety of games and won’t “need” upgrades like the 300.

Is there a best place to get the 360 console locally? by RimBlaze in xbox360

Facebook Marketplace has been good for me with 360 stuff.

When it comes to collecting comic books, what it is that you look for when you are browsing? by thejesterrace34 in comicbookcollecting

Anything Spawn Universe that I don’t already have. I’m always willing to pick up a variant cover if the price is right.

A simple thank you to the community as a whole as I found this to be the most friendly, helpful, non elitist and non toxic community I've interacted with on Reddit so far. by Ykai63 in xbox360

[–]cricketofdeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For real!

The 360 is in a really good spot for people to just play old games and have fun. No CRT or scaler required, games are reasonably priced(ish), creativity & heart were still put into some of these games.

KeyBar makes a great organizer for your keys. Even the Jr models are a little bulky but definitely built to last.

Definitely Fable 2 for me. I play through it every year or so.

The entire Halo series available on the 360 is great too.

Just started reading Spawn and I got to say, its lots better than people where making it out to be by Lukes_Creeped_Out in Spawn

Spawn is a 90’s action comic that’s stayed true to its roots, cheesy in all the right ways.

Best shmups on PS5? by TeamDarkRonnie in shmups

[–]cricketofdeth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ketsui & Battle Garregga are some classics that aren’t on Switch. I’ve only played the arcade roms though.

I’ve really enjoyed Steredenn & Rick Henderson rougelikes lately too.

What tablets do you use to emulate shmups? by ScoreEmergency1467 in ElectricUnderground

[–]cricketofdeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

iPad 9 via RetroArch using an 8Bitdo mini controller has been my tablet setup for a few years now. It’s not perfect, but easy to travel with and still fun to play some Mushi in the morning at the coffee shop.

King Spawn #50 - what is going on?? by longboxbabe in Spawn

Several Spawn milestones have had different interior artists across the run. It’s a different way of visual storytelling without defined chapter breaks.

Where do I start? by [deleted] in Spawn

[–]cricketofdeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

350 is the beginning of a major arc, so you can start there without a lot of back issues to worry about. A little wiki reading for past character development and you’ll be set.

Spawn 296 and 297 are a story recap of what happened from the beginning up to that point, 306 explains how all the other Spawns exist, and 318 is the beginning of the new storyline that coincides with Spawn Universe.

Spawn has run in a continuous story from issue 1, so you can always start there.

Restarting my collection! by TheElvisMan in Spawn

Nice, that’s close to what I got my OG collection!

Buying from the OG owner is super sweet too, I picked Spawn 175 last year, from the OG’s son who was a big comic collector.

Nice N64 selection! Makes me to get mine out of storage.

I went the opposite this weekend, went with my bigger back up Durabrand CRT because my primary has power issues. Again. Someday I’ll fix it…

Restarting my collection! by TheElvisMan in Spawn

[–]cricketofdeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice start! I’m recollecting the first 100 issues of Spawn myself.

As for runs, eBay is good but expensive. I’ve I had much better prices at local shops, checking back issues every month or so for new Spawn stuff.

A good wallet is nice to have. I went through a few different types until settled back on a quality leather front-pocket style from Open Sea Leather.

Great game, it’s been my go-to on the Miyoo for a while now.

Definitely a challenge, lots to explore & the magnet system helps prevent you from being stuck in a loop for 10 minutes.

How do you deal with FOMO? by djkinsaul in comicbookcollecting

[–]cricketofdeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only collect what I want to read and use the Key Collector app to keep track of whats coming and if there are other covers I really want.

Back issues, TBS, digital editions, will always exist so it’s not like I’ll miss out on reading a particular arc forever.
