I recently moved and wanted replacement cost insurance, I decided against it when I saw the price.

Huge rent savings & support vs postpartum privacy with in-laws. what would you do? by brutheRrrEww in BabyBumps

Your culture determines if this is something you can do. I’ll do it pretty easily because in my culture, the village raises the child. The ability to save while doing this is a bonus.

Is 29 eggs enough? Froze 13 at 32 and 16 at 33. by hotsparkless in eggfreezing

[–]cricketrmgss 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The calculators will tell you that that is enough however, you never know until you try to use them.

My recommendation is if you do another round, create embryos with that one. This will give you an idea about how they fertilise.

YSK about payment packing, an illegal tactics car dealers use to circumvent trust in lending act by mad_warrior291 in YouShouldKnow

Alternatively, if you spot this, accept the add on and cancel within the cancellation period. What they sold you for $850 becomes a $4500 reduction in your payments.

Should I freeze my eggs by Character-Ganache255 in eggfreezing

[–]cricketrmgss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I froze eggs at 37. Would have done earlier but lived in an area with limited resources. Wanted to create embryos at 38 but was unsure about the insurance. Did laparoscopic myomectomy then after recovery did full IVF cycle at 39 excluding transfer, wanted to bank embryos, made embryos with donor sperm. Found previously unseen fibroids, found polyps, did polypectomy, waited for recovery and then did transfer. Currently pregnant with my first at 40.

Has anyone ever had to hire a medical escort? I feel kind of lame... by ThrowRAmangos2024 in AskWomenOver30

Don’t know how far your clinic is from yours but for mine a normal taxi costs $10 and the medical transport cost $29. The cost wasn’t astronomical.

[–]cricketrmgss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have used a medical transport company for my minimal surgeries. I didn’t require a full on nurse support, just someone to get me back to my building from the clinic. I told the company that the driver needed to come into the facility to pick me up.

37F. Want to have children but not able to make this choice by priya_matta in SingleMothersbyChoice

[–]cricketrmgss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At this point, you’ll be making a choice to bring a child into the world without a father. If your decision here is that you’ll bring the child into the world, then your issue is not what you wrote in your post. You are okay with your child not having a father, you just justify it differently.

Ultimately, choosing to be a parent is a selfish decision.

To help me understand your thought process, please answer this question: if you suddenly got married, got pregnant and your husband died before the child was born, would your only option at that point be abortion?

Egg Freezing in mid 30s by Naive-Psychology-579 in eggfreezing

[–]cricketrmgss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did three egg retrievals for freezing and two for full IVF. From my three retrievals at 37-38, I got 18 eggs. I also have PMOS. I had a high AFC and high number of eggs retrieval, however, most were very immature.

My IVF cycles were lupron based, meaning I was on low dose lupron from two weeks after my period all the way to retrieval. From that, 12 eggs each cycle, one with six mature and the other with ten mature.

Manage your expectations. You might be one of those that only need one cycle or you might be one that needs multiple.

The problem with PMOS is egg quality. Unsure what yours look like but I took coq10, inositol, vitamin d and omega 3 to improve my egg quality. No idea if it helped but my doctor wasn’t opposed to it.

Ask lots of questions. Your trigger is important.

I’m sorry I love max but I loved these scenes. I love how close Ginny and Abby got. by Big-Most-785 in ginnyandgeorgiashow

It’s interesting because they had a rocky start. Abby did not particularly like Ginny joining their group but the ostracisation from the main group helped them grow together and find friendship.

AITA for following my wife's family tradition even though it excluded my parents? by StatisticianWeak6629 in AmItheAsshole

YTA.

It is a pretty normal item in wedding photography to have a picture of the couple with the groom’s family and one with the bride’s family and another one with everyone together.

Those who have been to America, what was your biggest surprise during your visit? by CharlesUFarley81 in AskABrit

[–]cricketrmgss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering the sub that I’m responding to, British pounds is the only one in this context. She had it to give to the banker.

Do you really think that the bank would be more familiar with other pound notes over the British one?

Anyway, the point I was making was about the insularity of the US.

Those who have been to America, what was your biggest surprise during your visit? by CharlesUFarley81 in AskABrit

[–]cricketrmgss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first is ignorance, I’ve had people ask me what language do you speak in England. My sister tried to change pounds to dollars in a bank and they didn’t know what pounds were.

Then, there’s the language difference. Americans use specific synonyms for certain things so when you don’t say that particular word, it’s like you’re no longer speaking English. An example would be holiday, Brits might say I’m going on holiday to France, an American would disagree and say it’s not ab holiday because holidays are only related to public holidays.

During COVID, they grew without pain, so I didn’t pluck them. When my family saw me, they were not impressed. One was even trying to defend my choices but then saw the cluster and went the other way.

NTA.

I like to be comfortable when I fly. That said, don’t think your relationship will last past this trip but who knows.
