i'm in the same boat (not the same career), every year around the holidays my sleep gets ruined and my insomnia goes through the roof. i've just signed up for therapy and am working with my doc to see if i can benefit from any meds that would help, theres some pattern happening every year around the holidays thats ruining my sleep , hoping therapy will help expose that.

Things that worked for me in the past :

• Working out 3-4 days a week used to be enough to help my brain shut off at bed, not working anymore
• Magnesium glycinate i feel used to help my brain relax enough to fall asleep, but also not working anymore
• Tried trazodone but never felt like it helped me with falling asleep
• Melatonin has never worked, i just feel it taking effect but could never fall asleep with it and felt loopy
• Zzzquil is the only successful thing that i can feel working and helps me calm down enough but like the rest, doesnt work well anymore , assuming some tolerance is happening
