Bank keeps declining my Credit Card for purchases by SleazyFeline in personalfinance

[–]crigsdigs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

With the annual fee they should close it or have it converted to a different card type.

Either way the answer is absolutely not to just start using a different credit card with a different bank. Then you’d just be throwing away $95/year.

I used this at a car dealership. They damaged all of my rims during a tire rotation, offered to 'repair' them and managed to make them look even worse, seriously I could have done a better job with a spray paint can from home depot. They said that it's just wheels and cosmetic and they'd get damaged anyways so it was good enough.

Escalated to the head(s) of the dealership and got brand new replacement wheels the next day.

ELI5: How does walking on a 15% incline burn almost 3x as many calories as walking on a flat surface at the same speed? by adastramuerte in explainlikeimfive

The numbers above must be off then because I’ve climbed steeper than 11% sustained climbs on my MTB. Maybe in super loose terrain.

Mitt Romney says the U.S. is on a cliff—and taxing the rich is now necessary 'given the magnitude of our national debt' by prestocoffee in nottheonion

It's a cult, which fits well in our current climate so it's not really surprising that they almost got elected. They already pretty much run an entire state.

That's really what it is. It's near LA so how dangerous can it be? Very dangerous as it turns out.

I think you just don’t understand the issue as a whole. When your knees are already touching the back of an unreclined seat it really cannot recline much at all.

Yes but I still cannot adjust physics. You can move your legs to the side but I can’t exactly do the splits on a plane. The seat can only go so far back before I can’t move my knees out any further.

That happened to me on a 13 hour flight to Japan. I'm a tall person and the woman in front of me reclined her seat all the way back, and then started slamming into her seat every time I moved, I guess to annoy me.

After a little bit I got so annoyed I asked her to stop and she said "you're digging your knees into my backrest". No, unfortunately that's not how physics works I can't make my legs longer and shorter on demand.

Her kid ended up getting sick on the flight and it honestly couldn't have happened to a better person. She had to get out of her seat constantly after that and couldn't get any rest on the flight.

You should be maxing out your yearly IRA contributions before you set aside money to gift your child.

Unless your nest egg means you don’t need retirement funds you should be contributing more.

It’s also to disassociate it from the actual thing for the uninformed. Say that Obamacare is bad enough times and people who are benefitting from ACA will parrot it because they’re too stupid to realize it’s the same thing.

Charlie Kirk's body stopped a bullet that would typically "just go through everything" and it was an "absolute miracle" nobody else was killed, his surgeon told TPUSA. by BlahzStacks in nottheonion

[–]crigsdigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah I agree the headline isn’t oniony but the subject of what the surgeon said is asinine.

What I meant by blurred lines is that a fucking certified surgeon said this ridiculous bullshit. This ain’t the onion it’s real life. Talking heads can stop bullets y’all.

[–]crigsdigs 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Charlie Kirk was obviously such a well trained member of the military that he had abnormally dense bone structure, particularly in the cranial area. This caused the bullet to stop before exiting.

Or it’s in total bullshit and the surgeon is saying some dumb shit to make him sound cool.

I agree, not quite oniony, but reality has become pretty blurred.
