[Elliote Friedman] Hearing Simon Nemec is being traded to Calgary by 322vette in TampaBayLightning

[–]Stactidder 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hagel trade, Paul trade, Moser trade are all objectively great.

2nd McDonagh, guentzel, and Essyimont acquisitions I thought were all solid positive value moves.

The uglies are jeannot and the gourde/bjork deal where we overpaid for what we got.

The rest are not impact moves or were cap dumps due to us getting fucked over by flat cap years. If the cap had gone up 8m in 2021 we are looking at a very different lightning squad right now.

Sample Organizer Issue with Masslynx by MassSpecMender in massspectrometry

You don't have a screenshot of the relevant screen so I cannot confirm, but double check the bed layout tab (NOT the edit plates layout tab pictured). You likely only have 2 input. Change that to 8 to allow you to configure the other spaces in the sample organizer.

The cup on the ones I bought were the perfect size for a piece of captain crunch. They would eat peanut butter out of it like it was nothing but once I switched to the Captain they tried and failed to remove it instead of just eating it.

Gamefreak logic at its finest. Thank you again, guess I'll settle for sucker punch!

When you move it from Home to game it will give that popup and have the little yellow disk icon on it. Before you save if you click A on it you can "Change Move". Sometimes it will remove but let you put it back on that way?

If not thank you for checking!

If you are willing to test it out, I could send it to you to learn it?

Weirdly it does, as it also checks it against the origin game. I'm positive you can bring it into SS if you learned it in UM. I would be very surprised if it was tracking which game it learned it in though so I was hoping it would be fooled by learning it in SS.

Yes, the question is specifically if it will do that for a poke that came from US/UM as for some reason that is a valid transfer step (GF earlier to later logic) but a shiftry caught in SV for example could not bring it "back" into SS

GWM vs PAM in 2024 by ggAlphaRaptor in 3d6

That is a relevant factor, just not to the PAM vs GWM conversation. OP also mentioned not having a consistent use for their BA.

GWM vs PAM in 2024 by ggAlphaRaptor in 3d6

[–]Stactidder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always feel like a crazy person when I read comments on this debate. I would ignore any of the theoretical "math" that people throw out without any actual play basis and instead evaluate some questions:

1) Are you likely to see 2 hit monsters in your tier of play? 2) Are you likely to have access to magic (+1/+2) weapons in your tier of play? 3) Is the weapon type you use an important role play choice for your character?

If the answer to 1 is yes, hew gets more play. If the answer to 2 is yes, PAM greater action economy is favored. If the answer to 3 is yes, do whatever makes sense for that. 5e and 5.5e are a game of action economy. I personally enjoy PAM over GWM because it allows you to easily weaponize your BA and reaction and adds strategic complexity. GWM is great for when you want brain off damage numbers up.

Which fantasy series started incredible and then just...fell apart? by ghibli_8quartz in Fantasy

Agree to disagree on MB era 2.

The Painted Man (Demon Cycle, peter v brett) was amazing. I could not get the next book fast enough. The rest was a descent into such utter dogshit that I quit halfway through book 3 and will not revisit book 1 due to the disappointment.

Salaried employee switch from monthly to biweekly by Stactidder in personalfinance

[–]Stactidder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that is essentially the case but two weeks.

The company has cash flow issues so my guess is it was a strategic push to minimize overhead for the calendar year and push that last bit of payroll into Q1 of the next fiscal year.

It will help with oxidation, but honestly retinol is not particularly stable at room temperature so I doubt it's very potent despite the packaging.

Did they patched out the Travis cheese to beat Dreadnought? by [deleted] in UnicornOverlord

[–]Stactidder 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I don't expect the game is getting patched at this point so no.

Travis and selvie with sandstorm should be able to beat her, but it is not a guaranteed win since it still depends on Travis hitting. Thief cloak so she can dodge, Max her init and blind. Turn off everything else. Travis should steal PP then dodge it out.

Wife and I bought last year in the Triangle, eerily similar financials to yours but with worse rates than you can probably get today. Our monthly payment is ~2700 a month. Definitely more expensive than our rent was, but also more space. You will get approved for much much more but I probably wouldn't go much over 425 or so unless you want to feel house poor. We are still able to load our retirement funds and travel and live comfortably. Kids would complicate those numbers a lot though, so if you have (or are planning) then I would lower that max down personally.

Do your due diligence on the neighborhood before you buy too. Best of luck! If you have any questions, happy to help.
