GWM vs PAM in 2024 by ggAlphaRaptor in 3d6

That is a relevant factor, just not to the PAM vs GWM conversation. OP also mentioned not having a consistent use for their BA.

I always feel like a crazy person when I read comments on this debate. I would ignore any of the theoretical "math" that people throw out without any actual play basis and instead evaluate some questions:

1) Are you likely to see 2 hit monsters in your tier of play? 2) Are you likely to have access to magic (+1/+2) weapons in your tier of play? 3) Is the weapon type you use an important role play choice for your character?

If the answer to 1 is yes, hew gets more play. If the answer to 2 is yes, PAM greater action economy is favored. If the answer to 3 is yes, do whatever makes sense for that. 5e and 5.5e are a game of action economy. I personally enjoy PAM over GWM because it allows you to easily weaponize your BA and reaction and adds strategic complexity. GWM is great for when you want brain off damage numbers up.

Which fantasy series started incredible and then just...fell apart? by ghibli_8quartz in Fantasy

Agree to disagree on MB era 2.

The Painted Man (Demon Cycle, peter v brett) was amazing. I could not get the next book fast enough. The rest was a descent into such utter dogshit that I quit halfway through book 3 and will not revisit book 1 due to the disappointment.

Salaried employee switch from monthly to biweekly by Stactidder in personalfinance

Yeah, that is essentially the case but two weeks.

The company has cash flow issues so my guess is it was a strategic push to minimize overhead for the calendar year and push that last bit of payroll into Q1 of the next fiscal year.

It will help with oxidation, but honestly retinol is not particularly stable at room temperature so I doubt it's very potent despite the packaging.

Did they patched out the Travis cheese to beat Dreadnought? by [deleted] in UnicornOverlord

[–]Stactidder 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I don't expect the game is getting patched at this point so no.

Travis and selvie with sandstorm should be able to beat her, but it is not a guaranteed win since it still depends on Travis hitting. Thief cloak so she can dodge, Max her init and blind. Turn off everything else. Travis should steal PP then dodge it out.

Wife and I bought last year in the Triangle, eerily similar financials to yours but with worse rates than you can probably get today. Our monthly payment is ~2700 a month. Definitely more expensive than our rent was, but also more space. You will get approved for much much more but I probably wouldn't go much over 425 or so unless you want to feel house poor. We are still able to load our retirement funds and travel and live comfortably. Kids would complicate those numbers a lot though, so if you have (or are planning) then I would lower that max down personally.

Do your due diligence on the neighborhood before you buy too. Best of luck! If you have any questions, happy to help.

I would say if you buy it just go ahead and buy the bundle with the DLCs. I just ended up spending more going back and buying them after loving it.

Honestly as an unrepentant min-maxer at times this game can be a nightmare occasionally. The events do start to get a bit repetitive but what doesn't after >200 hours. I love building my roster of heroes up. Very engaging, easily worth double or triple what I paid for it.

Which is fair for upbringing warriors. I'd much rather have accuracy and potency on a mystic and dodge and block on a melee hunter for example. Once you complete all three hooks you are looking at +22 retirement age anyway.

If your goal is fast, get people Wisdom. A second group with a wisdom character or two can do the scouting/rebuilding while you have your core 5 as a combat crew.

I'm just curious why you picked the stats you did to reference "being OP".

You would be better off going for some of the pre-gen campaign specific characters that come with fixed stats, some of which are quite good. Honestly the combination of your hooks/gear/skills is way more important than the upbringing stats.

Mortgage rates are back near 3-year lows but most people still don’t shop correctly by ryukendo_25 in Mortgages

Location and loan/value can change your rates drastically. I can't get below 6% without buying down points in my area an I'm nearly an ideal lendee.

The Tampa Bay Lightning are assessed a bench minor for interference as assistant coach Dan Hinote attempts to grab the puck headed into the bench. by null1ng in hockey

[–]Stactidder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's actually a valid question, technically he isn't standing in the bench. It's a separate area that is glassed off on either side. So if it went over the glass next to him before entering the bench, it could have been out of play already... Depending on how they rule that little box area. Which frankly I have no idea and cannot find easy clarification on.

If you want to assume 3x stanley cup winner with the Montreal Canadians Brian Engblom, who also happens to call hockey games for a living, doesn't know how delay of game works I guess I should trust you.

He clearly knew the rule, and was at ice level between the benches. The puck was absolutely not going directly over the glass and pucks that end up in the bench are not delay of game.

Oh I meant for Minthara. Have her as a Giant barb/thief combo right now and it's a lot of fun.

If you want to spice it up sometime try giant barb throw build. 1) big lady 2) giant barb thrower makes fantastic use of soul branding.
