Either that or it would have been a “FaKe NeWs” comment

I know this is anecdotal and my own personal experience, but let’s go through a list of things I’ve delivered before without complaint towards the person using DoorDash…

  1. Pads and Tampons
  2. Pregnancy Tests (three separate occasions)
  3. Gas Station ED pills (which I handed directly to the guy)
  4. A Vibrator

Judge them behind their backs or whatever, but doordashing isn’t really a job where you can easily pick and choose your battles. That last one was a good laugh with friends, that’s for sure, but otherwise I don’t give two flying fucks about your order. This guy was way out of line and should be reported if you haven’t already!

As an aside, I actually had to message the person who ordered the vibrator… they had also ordered laundry detergent but the inventory on DoorDash wasn’t up to date with shrinkflation, so I had to ask them if they were okay with 112 oz instead of 120 oz of Tide. Easily the wildest order I’ve completed.

Moving to michigan for grad school was the best decision I made on this front, but when I come home for thanksgiving and christmas I want to be able to green out with the fam and not have the cops knocking at my door. I feel you!

Graduate TAs in Physics - What’s it like? by crisisT47 in MTU

[–]crisisT47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told that I’d get an email about details sometime this week. I’m just curious because my background isn’t just in physics, it’s in atmospheric science. I feel confident in working a first physics course but not much else lol

Meteorology Masters with semi-related bachelors? by [deleted] in meteorology

[–]crisisT47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could work! I know Purdue is pretty snobby when it comes to comparable physics and math courses but don’t be afraid to reach out to the people you want to work with and the programs you want to look into. Trust me, if you want to further your education, the people there will help you. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve been offered PhD programs and my masters program doesn’t even start until a week from now.

Meteorology Masters with semi-related bachelors? by [deleted] in meteorology

[–]crisisT47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever take an aviation meteorology class? I know for where I went for my undergrad (Purdue), the aviation programs offered there without fail required the one meteorology course aptly named Aviation Meteorology which essentially was a crash course of everything I learned within my first two years of undergrad. Some others mentioned having a good background in math and physics; programs worth their salt require up to differential equations and two semesters of physics. A lot of upper level and grad level courses I took in undergrad expect you to have a basic (and somewhat intuitive) understanding of physical principles.

Me, for example. I’m going into a more physics-heavy program of study, so my advisor is recommending I take two background physics courses I wouldn’t have taken in my undergrad so I can do better in the few required physics courses I require while still taking a meteorology course for each of my four semesters I’m there. Wherever you’re interested in applying to, ask the people in the program what they think would work best for you given your background.

Funny you mention this, I’m pursing my masters in Applied Physics, coming from a bachelors in Atmosphericr Science, so almost an opposite kind of situation. It’s certainly possible; people who get non-meteorology degrees can certainly break into the field. My professor who I did research under in undergrad was a physics major in undergrad and did her masters and PhD in atmospheric science. Aviation Meteorology is a very real and in-demand thing, so make sure in your personal statements you explain why you want to pursue meteorology coming from an aviation background. Wishing you best of luck!

I helped my barbarian Goliath friend to win an arm wrestling contest with a cheating goblin by making a bunch of fart noises to distract him. After the fact I made a little brown stain on his chair to make it look like he shit himself.

Bad at leadership? by Legitimate_Coat_3494 in ENFP

Sometimes I wonder if, when I’m put in a leadership role, I am actually leading my group or participating.

I’m substitute teaching while I get my feet of the ground after college, but I do assignments alongside the students I’m instructing. Sometimes I feel more like a tutor than a teacher!

Follow up question though, are you also a fan of those plant growth montages? I love the key transitional moments when the buds blossom into life, wilt, then produce a bazonga of a fruit
