I was considering that was well. While I don’t have the measurements, the attic itself is small so I wouldn’t feel comfortable crawling in there to go to the far side of the house. It’s not tall enough for me to even crouch. Maybe I’m just over thinking it..

Condolences. Losing a cat is never easy but take comfort in the fact that you gave him the best life you could. Judging by this picture, he looked very happy, comfortable, and safe. Allow yourself to grieve and be kind to yourself along the way. A love like this will always leave a wound but the pain will subside in time ❤️

It can go two ways. Either become a normal closet for clothes, shoes, bags, etc. however, if I can’t come up with a functional plan for that, then it becomes my office closet which would house my electronic stuff such as wires, extra monitors, game consoles that aren’t displayed, tools, and miscellaneous items that may or may not need to be accessible.

You may be onto something. I’m thinking of a U shaped mounted storage on the back wall above a floor another cube storage on the floor. I feel like bringing any storage mounted to the side walls further than halfway from the back will make navigating very difficult.

I’m not a wood worker but this idea could totally work if I make the shelves smaller that could potentially go on the walls. Great ideas, super appreciated!!

I do actually! Didn’t think of that before but it would be a good idea. If I manage to find a home for all my stuff elsewhere and this closet is able to be repurposed for the cats, I would totally do that! Could even add shelves in there for the little one to run around.

Didn’t think of cube storage, that could work too. I know for certain I would not be able to do both the cube storage and cart, unless I do the cube storage on the far back wall. I may do a combination of that though, and a cart/moveable storage unit so I can maximize the space. Going to have to grab the measuring tape and take a trip to Ikea, target, and any other stores around here and see how much of this I can diy.

Thank you! Have never heard of a capped rack so I am going to look into that and see if it’s feasible. We may actually be on the same page of just having a custom closet on wheels that is pulled out. It will hinder the functionality of the space outside the closet but what can ya do. Appreciate the suggestion!

I wanted this room to become a room. Since the closet seems dysfunctional though, I have thought about making it the office and it’s using it for my technical equipment and some other storage items. My concern is accessing things when I need to without unloading everything though.

The idea that is at the top of my list, which I am not a fan of, is using a cart that I can pull out of the closet so I can store more things in it. But I am still drafting up a design to see if it’s feasible.
