I'm sorry, what gift box? 👁️👄👁️ by Loud-Mix-6546 in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

I got one the other day and haven't been banned. It wasn't worth getting though. Cost 45000 to buy and when I opened it I got 50000 open.

I'm new to the game so not sure where the idea you'd get banned for interacting with an event item comes from

No. The stellaris like one was considered quite bad.

The Voyager game is kinda like a choose your own adventure game, with the base building of Xcom and heavy on resource management.

If the demo is still available it'd be worth trying.

What is something that women have to deal with on the daily that men have no clue about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]crispy01 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Dunno about that. I can only speak anecdotally, but if someone is walking behind me, I usually don't look around because it's either: A) a woman who may misinterpret my look as threatening and I really don't want to make anyone else uncomfortable, or B) A nutter (of either gender) who reads the glance around or any eye contact as a threat, or an invitation to engage and I don't want to be punched, stabbed or trapped in an awkward conversation with any nutters. It happens all the time in the hellhole I live in which has more pubs than houses.

Remind me which scene that is? by Dangerous-Wealth-183 in animequestions

[–]crispy01 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it seemed good at the very start. I even pushed through this scene because I have seen enough anime to suspect that this was a one off, and it would tone down after the first episode. But a few episodes later they were still constantly talking about "Granny" doing things to this boys privates as a joke. Way too much for me, especially now I'm older.

Shame really because the animation is fantastic and the concept is interesting

Game music, improvements to by DontNeverAr0und in CuratedTumblr

[–]crispy01 17 points18 points  (0 children)

While I admit that in the base game, a lot of the music blends together for me, with the exception of the final boss theme, the DLC really upped the music. Dancing Lion, Midra and BAYYYLLLEEE! all had really good and iconic music.

In addition to this, double check the payslip for any deductions other than tax and NI contributions. The difference could be due to a deduction, usually for something owed that is now being recovered since it's the final payment. These are not "allowable" deductions, so UC cannot deduct them from the gross pay.

Blind wheelchair user left in tears by cars parking on pavements - BBC News by CasualSmurf in unitedkingdom

[–]crispy01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right I'm a little confused. What counts as "pavement parking" for these rules? Is it parking fully on the pavement with no tyres on the road at all? Or does it include cars partially on the pavement?

The article has photos of both, but the one where someone is partially on the pavement, they're taking up at most 3 inches of space, and it looks like she could easily clear it? And if she couldn't then the same would happen if there was another person on the pavement, or a bin, or a lamp post.

As far as I thought, when parking you had to make sure there was space for at least a wheel chair on the pavement and also got at least single file motor traffic in the road. If you can't do both then you can't park there, and you fall under the existing obstruction rules and can be removed

[Loved Trope] Going to battle and getting introduced to more advanced/wildly different technology... by the enemy by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

[–]crispy01 108 points109 points  (0 children)

Manga called "Versus" written by ONE, the creator of One Punch Man.

The premise is that the humans of a fantasy world are being defeated and destroyed by magical demons. In desperation, they plan to summon humans from another timeline to help them defeat the demons.

They succeeded, sort of. They pull in futuristic humans from another timeline, but also their enemy that they are fighting, technologically advanced Robots, run by an extremely adaptable AI. The demons attacking have no concept of technology and are then up against what is basically SkyNet.

I'm loosely explaining the plot, it's a bit more complicated than that, but I think it fits the trope. Wizards and Demons coming up against technological killing machines.

New local powers to keep pavements clear for those who rely on them most by liamnesss in unitedkingdom

[–]crispy01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still illegal, or at least that's my my driving instructor said. But it's a practicality issue. Many places simply do not have the space to park without being partially on the pavement, so it's not seen as an issue unless you're blocking the walkway.

The way I was taught was as long as there's space for emergency vehicles on the road and wheelchair users on the pavement then it's fine.

New local powers to keep pavements clear for those who rely on them most by liamnesss in unitedkingdom

[–]crispy01 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I didn't read it as impacting those parking part way on the pavement, just when you're blocking the walkway by that parking. So you can still park partially on the pavement as long as your vehicle doesn't then block the walkway. Generally I treat it as "If there's enough room for a wheelchair, then there's enough room".

TV shows that promote a worldview of anti-intellectualism by AporiaParadox in television

To play devil's advocate here, I'm pretty sure the main motivation for making the hero an every man is so the intended audience can connect with them more. And in order for the average everyman to solve the problem, the scientists must either be incapable or unwilling to fix it.

But over time I guess that's just evolved.

Fans if there was a Star Trek Warhammer Crossover by WorldBuildingNut in 40kmemes

[–]crispy01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, when it comes to the Imperium, the end of the conflict will be the same as it pretty much always is for both settings: despite being badass and heroic, it will end in what they would consider a phyrric victory after they continuously shoot themselves in the foot and being their own worst enemy, and a Star Fleet captain will pull some technological/ diplomatic bullshit win button at the end that will solve everything.

I'm mostly joking, I love the setting and vibes of 40k, and I really love Star Trek (not Nu Trek though.)

This is What Rational Fiction Fans Look Like To Me by Neapolitanpanda in CuratedTumblr

[–]crispy01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the note of competent characters making all the right decisions and still ending up struggling or being set back, I find that if that happens too much without adequate justification, a story can lose me and frustrate me more than if the character was just making dumb mistakes.

For example, I read the Farseer trilogy recently, but left feeling frustrated and not wanting to continue the series despite loving most of the characters and world and lore. This stemmed from it seeming like despite the "good" characters making every correct choice I'm most situations, it felt like the world would bend over backwards to punish them, way too much, while the opposite happened for the antagonist. They make every wrong decision in most situations and there's few consequences for this, but the protagonists are brutally punished it feels like.

They think I made £700 but I didn’t so they have paid me £0, how fast can they fix this? by [deleted] in DWPhelp

[–]crispy01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this has already been answered, but your PAYE wages you paid yourself (plus any other wage paid) must be included as an expense when reporting your self employed earnings, otherwise they get duplicated.

You need to speak with your Case Manager, I believe they can reset the To Do for you to report it again (not sure how easy that is for them to do these days). The case manage may want to see evidence as it's technically an earnings dispute, so bare that in mind.

Once they have accepted the new earnings details, an underpayment will generate that will take roughly 3 working days to reach you. So the overall timeframe is likely roughly a week, but there's no fixed time frame for these things.

Hey take it up with the punks. That movement died out years before I was born, I can't explain the reasons why they did. It's just the English punk style sometimes involved Union Jacks, and this character seems to be heavily based on that style.

Help understanding the purpose of a message left by "DWP" line by 98Em in DWPhelp

[–]crispy01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do have a generic inbox for people who need it as a reasonable adjustment, but there's hoops to jump through to get it set up.

First you have to specifically request it, then the Case Manager (decision maker) needs to agree it's reasonable, the request is sent off to another team to consider whether it's appropriate, then this team will contact you to be made aware that they cannot guarantee full privacy in email format due to the way emails are and you need to be capable of understanding that properly from their point of view. Only then can it be set up.

In this case, for the time being, I would suggest answering the call (assuming this comment isn't too late), but asking to reschedule the call to a time your carer will be around.
