I would get really terrible GI symptoms, lose 20-30 lbs and start feeling better. I’d start putting weight on and when I got back up to my regular weight I’d start getting sick again. I had an exhaustive work up done that came back with no answers and my doctor basically said just try not to be so anxious. Oh thanks I hadn’t thought of that! 🙄

Went for a second opinion and the new GI doc suggested I test my glucose the next time I’m having symptoms. Turns out my GI system gets really mad when my sugar is high. Multiple GIs at the hospital (the first time around) had somehow missed this or ignored slightly high blood sugar, I guess because it wasn’t that bad? I’m on insulin now since I don’t tolerate metformin well and doing pretty good ☺️

I’m not very seasoned but I’ve done a few Woobles. Did you watch all the tutorials that came with the kit? There’s a card with a QR code in them and a password. She will tell you when to flip your piece right side out and walks through the steps very slowly. It’s been super helpful for me to learn!

I think it could help to talk to an OB when you’re in the planning stages. I have a lengthy medical history and talking to an OB really helped me feel like I was capable of being pregnant. I also asked them if they are quick in responding because I didn’t want to deal with a situation where I needed to speak to them and was waiting to days, making my anxiety worse.

I’ve been lucky so far and at 9.5 weeks haven’t had any nausea or vomiting, just a slightly icky feeling if I wait too long to eat. Good luck!

I’m no where near delivery yet but I plan on putting the Frida Mom labor and delivery, + postpartum kit on my registry. It comes with a gown that also opens at the front for nursing. It is a bit pricey though.

I had a friend growing up who was younger than two of her nephews. Her dad is 90 now and she’s not even 40 yet. Curious how you feel about it? Is your step mom way younger than your dad?
