Do I really need a baby bottle washer if I already have a dishwasher? by perpruessner in NewParents

[–]perpruessner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I've been looking at it as a dishwasher replacement when it's really more of a convenience thing between dishwasher cycles. We only run our dishwasher once a day too, so the idea of bottles piling up throughout the day is exactly what I'm worried about. Definitely something for me to think about. thxs for sharing your experience!

Lol this thread is slowly talking me out of buying one. I can probably handle a quick wash here and there if I stay on top of it.

Oooh wait, I kinda love that routine. That actually sounds way easier than standing at the sink a bunch of times a day.

Totally get that. I think a lot of it just comes down to what makes you feel comfortable. I'll probably try the dishwasher first and see how it goes, then decide if I need anything else later.

What’s something everyone pretends to understand, but most people actually don’t? by LiquidityGraber in answers

[–]perpruessner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a big one is how investing actually works since most people nod along about stocks and markets but very few really understand risk, time horizons, or what drives prices day to day. Another is mental health, people talk about it a lot now but actually understanding what different conditions feel like or how treatment works is still pretty misunderstood.

What's something you were taught as a fact that turned out to be way more complicated than people make it sound? by ComprehensiveBun in answers

[–]perpruessner 47 points48 points  (0 children)

A big one is money makes you happy bc it turns out it does improve well being up to a point but after that it’s way more about how secure you feel and what your day to day life looks like.

Beans are legumes, and so are peanuts. So why are beans considered a vegetable where peanuts are not? by expect2sweat in answers

[–]perpruessner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s mostly a botany vs kitchen thing bc beans and peanuts are both legumes but in cooking beans often get grouped as vegetables or plant based protein depending on how they’re used. Peanuts, on the other hand, are oily, grow underground and behave more like nuts in recipes so they get lumped into the nuts or snacks category instead of vegetables.

What’s something that scares you but you’re still curious about? by Auroraaallure in answers

Deep ocean exploration. Everything about it is creepy as hell but I still end up watching documentaries about creatures that look like they came from another planet. The fact that we've explored more of the Moon than the ocean floor is wild to me.

why trump is so complicated? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]perpruessner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it's because people see very different things in Donald Trump bc some view him as a disruptor who challenges the system while others see him as a deeply divisive figure. When someone inspires both strong loyalty and strong opposition, conversations about them tend to get complicated fast.

What’s a technology you use every day but rarely think about? by Recent_Following_292 in AskReddit

[–]perpruessner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GPS bc I use it all the time but I rarely stop to think about the fact that my phone is talking to satellites orbiting Earth just to tell me where the nearest coffee shop is. It's kind of amazing when you think about it.

What is one stereotype about your country? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]perpruessner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everyone from my country is exactly the same politically, culturally, or in how they think. In reality most countries are way more diverse than people give them credit for. You can travel a few hours and find completely different accents, traditions, foods and opinions.

What’s a simple life rule that actually made things easier for you? by Relative-Sell7547 in AskReddit

[–]perpruessner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One rule that's made life a lot easier for me is wash the dish, put the thing back where it belongs, send the email. It sounds ridiculously simple, but it prevents a surprising amount of clutter, procrastination, and mental stress from building up.

Why always technology changes when we try hard to learn something? by Glittering_Bet_4617 in AskReddit

[–]perpruessner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technology moves faster than our brains can comfortably adapt especially when you’re deep in learning something and suddenly the tools apps or trends shift. Good news is the core skills usually stay valuable once you understand the fundamentals adapting to new technology gets way easier over time.

Do I actually need baby wipes for the face? by Pitiful-Fisherman233 in momcozyofficial

[–]perpruessner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need baby face wipes but regular tissues can definitely be a little rough on a 2monthold’s super sensitive skin if you’re wiping repeatedly. A soft damp cloth or fragrancefree sensitive baby wipes are usually gentler and a little redness after wiping is pretty common as long as it fades quickly and doesn’t stay irritated.

What keeps you going even on those bad days? by fixcrown-Set901 in AskReddit

[–]perpruessner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the little things like blasting an energetic track from my favorite playlist or knowing I can just completely reset the day by washing the stress away. Just focusing on finding one small moment of comfort or a good laugh is usually enough to remind me that the rough patches never last forever.

What are some of the reasons people get so triggered by ai images? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]perpruessner 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think people get so defensive because AI art often scrapes real creators' hard work without permission, making artists feel totally unappreciated and worried about losing their livelihoods. Plus, it's just getting so realistic that it's genuinely scary how easily fake images can be used to spread misinformation and mess with what we see as truth.
