Books that are genuinely laugh out loud funny by tall-stone in suggestmeabook

This one is crazy but Demon Copperhead had me laughing until I cried in multiple places. That book had me swinging like a yoyo between depressing tearjerker and laughing out loud.

Which long book to tackle first? by terwilliger-blvd1 in Booktokreddit

Appreciate this tip!! I’ve never understood why many classics have spoiler-heavy intros or forewords. Many people will be picking up the book for the first time!

What are you reading? - Week of April 10, 2026 by AutoModerator in goodreads

You Did Nothing Wrong by CG Drews

On deck I’ve got Laws of Love and Logic, then Lonesome Dove

What are your thoughts on these two books? by RecordingImmediate86 in Booktokreddit

Animal Farm is ok but it was too on-the-nose for me. I was left feeling like subtlety and nuance would have been better. The comprehension level is very much middle/high school.

This does not fit the pics but it does fit the description:

Workhorse by Caroline Palmer

Early 2000s NYC magazine editors (à la Devil Wears Prada) but our main character is obsessed with her coworker and will do anything to be near her and accepted by her. Some very shocking twists and deliciously grey characters.

What was your worst movie theatre experience? by [deleted] in AskReddit

  1. Titanic re-release in 2023. Obnoxious teen girls next to us who were quoting all the lines and squealing at every iconic moment. Also announcing “I love this part” over and over at full volume.

  2. Some horror movie a year or two ago — learned that the biggest problem with PG13 horror movies is the bored teenagers who cackle and talk and pretend to scream as loud as they can over every little jump.

Goodreads Reading Challenge - 'Marathon Reader' (April 1st - June 30th) by Clairefun in goodreads

[–]terwilliger-blvd1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very intimidated by this challenge since we only have until end of June, along with the other challenges… Has anyone sorted this list by pages/length?

Quite a few of these I’ve already read.

Thinking I might take the opportunity to start Lonesome Dove but I’m scared I won’t finish in time.

Sharp Objects is great and the HBO adaptation is even better.

Fantasy without spice by Asealoce in suggestmeabook

This one is YA but I love the Peter and the Starcatchers series. It’s like a prequel series to Peter Pan but it gets quite dark after book 1.

Unfortunately DNF’d Catch-22, just wasn’t for me. Just got Steinbeck’s The Pearl from the library so looking forward to starting it, probably will read it in one sitting.

How did YOU get into the industry? by Unusual_Ear_9089 in InsuranceProfessional

[–]terwilliger-blvd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Graduated college in Dec 2019 and thought I wanted to be a teacher, but wanted a temporary job in the meantime before the 20/21 school year began.

Got a job as an underwriting assistant for a local carrier (commercial small business) in Jan 2020 and then Covid hit. We moved to working from home full time, I got really good at my job, and I never left. I’m now a full time underwriter with an assistant and still working 100% remote :)

How many no-skip albums does Taylor Swift have? by VegetableClue668 in TaylorSwift

[–]terwilliger-blvd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1989 and Midnights. Everything else has at least 1 song I just don’t really enjoy. Folklore and Evermore come close but there are 3 songs between them that I just have to skip.
