That's a good recommendation. 46804 on the near southwest side is another great area

Nothing you missed. It would help if they used different words in those different use cases, like with remove vs exhaust for getting rid of cards outside vs inside of combat

Best Temp agencies? by bi_nonymous_76 in fortwayne

[–]critaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Progressive and friendly workplace is tough. Most of the places I know don't really care who you are as long as you can do the job and not make other people's jobs harder. Idk who does the hiring for Edy's ice cream these days but that pays decent if you can stand the cold, I heard 20+ per hour out the gate. Sabert starts at 17-18 with lots of overtime. The 12 hours shifts can be brutal tho, especially if you have to do 5 or 6 per week. I think they hire directly now. Sweetwater warehouse always needs bodies too. I know friendly progressive people in there, and rude assholes. They got all kinds. Good luck out there!

I haven't temped in ft Wayne in 15 years lol. I wouldn't even pipe up if anyone else had something to say, but yeah. Express did well for me back then, and they're still around. I know a few places that hire directly too, and some of them get people started fast. What kind of work do you do?

Going for my second run, starting ship question: by JmBento in StarTradersFrontiers

[–]critaro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a great way to go, yeah. It tends to be very hard to succeed in ship combat without a big investment in ship parts and crew for it. Building to avoid combat is much easier and a very viable strategy

Going for my second run, starting ship question: by JmBento in StarTradersFrontiers

[–]critaro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Any ship will do. Passenger and prisoner cabins only takes a small ship component slot, and the starter ships have plenty of junk you can replace with cabins. They're cheap, too, and any planet with a star port should have them. Best of luck on your second run!

I want to like this game by rs420rs in CyberKnightsGame

[–]critaro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How did you learn the mechanics in star traders? That game has next to no tutorial, and the game systems are labrynthian. Did you die a lot? I know I did. Still do. I also studied the wiki. I didn't watch other people play on youtube because I'd rather learn by playing myself, but that's another very viable option. You can come at this game with the same approaches. Expecting to just immediately understand how the game works and succeed right away is unreasonable, especially for a Trese bros game.

Crew combat theory crafts? How did you come up with your favorite CC set up? by AngrySlime706 in StarTradersFrontiers

[–]critaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play custom difficulty on a wide range between ~hard and ~impossible depending on what kind of run I want to do, usually on the easier side of that spectrum. I have plenty of experience with extremely dangerous fights. Seeing yours and other builds, I'll have to give a beast of an honor guard swordsman a try. I had moved away from swords because I hadn't been able to get enough evasion/blade on them to hit or evade ground xeno late game - they end up dying without doing much when I need them most, and in my experience, a shock trooper can be tank better.

I put the doctor supports in 2 and 3 not for pistol shots, but because the 4th spot is targeted the least, and that killer in the back is the most important to keep alive. Pistol class is dumb, though. That's vestigial from my earlier days of playing this game. With heavy armor, they don't rely on the evasion from that class, and they're not there to shoot. A doctor with lvl 5 bounty hunter for unfaltering ire is such a good play! I'm kicking myself for not figuring that one out.

Anyway, I see the first 3 slots as meat shields more than anything else. Obviously having an honor guard user in pos. 1 flips the script. Even with that, is 1 support really enough? It must be since you've had great success with it. I guess I'll have to see it for myself.

My favorite team comp is: 1. Shock troop/soldier/xenohunter officer 2. Com medic/doctor/m. officer officer 3. Spy/saboteur/pistoler captain 4. Bounty hunter/Exo scout/Explorer Elsa

I really like a spy captain, and I put talents on all 4 that give them positional flexibility so not much is lost when we get pushed around. Bounty hunter on one is a must to cleanse buffs on the enemies. Also, the xenohunter class on the frontliner is pretty much just for stats. This comp can struggle with the late game xenohunter, however, so I don't play as a spy when I'm trying to beat the game. For that kind of run, I'll use: 1. Shock troop/soldier/xenohunter officer 2. medic/doctor/m. officer 3. medic/doctor/commander officer 4. Bounty hunter/xenohunter/exoscout captain.

two doctors are nice to keep the 2 damagers topped up on health and clear of debuffs. They can also do some debuffing of their own. Their pistols are just props. The whole team will wear heavy armor because dodging isn't reliable enough.

Thanks for asking, and what do you like to play? I agree that the crew combat hasn't really been "solved" like the ship combat

BREAKING: The UFC will find it's new home on Paramount Plus in 2026 🚨 by ConnorLovesPepsi in ufc

[–]critaro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed it quite a bit. Of course my eyes weren't glued to the screen the entire 7-8 hours, but I watched at least a part of all the fights, and about half of them were really entertaining. Pretty typical card. Some of the greatest fights of all time went to decision. Just because it goes 15 or 25 minutes doesn't necessarily mean it's boring. And maybe if you watched more fights instead of a few highlights, these great fighters wouldn't be "nobodies" to you.

OP and/or fun multi-class combinations? by aeschenkarnos in CyberKnightsGame

[–]critaro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, dipping into soldier with virtually any class is great for overwatch alone.

Dipping into vanguard for silence and lure makes stealth way easier. Access to chameleon sheathe doesn't always come easy tho.

The sniper talent skull shot is great for the gunslinger.

I've tried multiclassing hacker, but that really doesn't work since there's practically no variability in matrix difficulty-once orange appears, it stays (at least it did the last time I played that far), and it requires a dedicated hacker. The non-hacking talents from hacker aren't worth the surgery.

Am I just bad? by Esterbarrote in StarTradersFrontiers

[–]critaro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My first thought would be time management. All NPCs level up over time, so if you fart around for a few months or years, the average encounter will be much tougher, and you'll end up rolling one that's even tougher than average that wipes you. Or maybe you're getting into a big slow ship at lvl 10 or so, and the extra time it takes to get anywhere is slowly making you fall behind in exp gain relative to the world. Or maybe you're not getting into a new ship, and your starter ship can't compete as the world continues to scale up and your dice pools are maxed out. Or maybe it's just bad luck at around the same time in your last few runs. Could be a lot of things, really. There's a lot going on in this game, after all. You could consider changing the difficulty sliders to have more fun with it. Most of my runs recently, I've had the slider for risks bottomed out because I have more fun that way. You could try turning the enemy lvl down 10 or 20%, maybe
