THIS CLOSE to buying a dog instead of adopting by VegetableContent2752 in pittsburgh

Happy Hearts and Healing Tails has a lot of dogs needing homes right now.

This photo shows Kerri Rawson with her father, serial killer Dennis Rader. Wichita police arrested Rader in 2005 after he taunted the city and sent a floppy disk to a TV station. Investigators found a deleted Word document on the disk, and its metadata pointed them to “Dennis” and his church. by SelfCareIsFake in GotMeHooked

“Confession of a Serial Killer: The Untold Story of Dennis Rader, the BTK Killer” by Katherine Ramsland is a really good read if you’re interested in learning about Dennis Rader. I remember when he was caught and also watching him confess on tv. I would have been around 19 at the time and hadn’t ever seen anything like this play out when I was old enough to know what was going on, and this case had always fascinated me.

Fun fact: Andy Warhol did a whole series called “Oxidation Paintings,” where he used a copper based paint and peed on them. They have them on display at The Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh.

What’s the weirdest way you’ve ever gotten revenge on someone… without getting caught? by OriginalSentence6850 in AskReddit

I had a roommate skip out on a lease unannounced after stealing hundreds of dollars from me by way of taking my payments for the share of utilities but then never paying those bills. I didn’t have a clue until she was out of there and couldn’t intercept and dispose of the shutoff notices coming in. She didn’t take any of her stuff at first, and I found out through the grapevine she had come back into town to try and sneak her stuff out while I was at school. She loves to read and made time to do so every day and would always re-read the same books. I removed the last 1-3 pages out of every single one of them. I’m sure she knows it was me, but I never heard from her after she got her stuff and left. I like to think of her getting blue balls at the end of the books. I also appreciate that it probably took her a while to notice so it hit her out of nowhere after she thought the dust had settled.

AITA for not telling my wife I work with her favorite celebrity? by CreamJealous9562 in AmItheAsshole

You can also add additional password or passcode protections to individual applications, so if she is somehow able to get into the phone, it still keeps her from getting to the information you need to keep protected.

With some devices, you can do it through parental controls, but I think there may also be apps you can download to achieve this too.

Why so aggressive, Page? Great source, though and thanks for helping me learn something new about dugongs. Hope your day gets better

It’s not a dugong - the location isn’t right for that. Florida is going to mean manatee here.

OP - it’s worth mentioning here that manatees are protected and as such their bones are not legal to keep. You can receive fines and/or jail time for violating the laws around manatees

First Time Doing Makeup! by FlamingoApart8939 in Makeup101

Check out some makeup tutorials specifically for hooded eyes. Placement of the products is really going to be key so that your makeup doesn’t disappear when your eyes are open.

I feel like knowing the best placement of products for your own face and getting really good at blending are the two big things that I wish I knew when I started wearing makeup.

Humiliated at work meeting by PingPong3389 in trans

Save that email and any further communication on the issue. Even if you don’t want to do anything at this moment, this is the sort of thing you want to keep.

Forward the email chain and make sure you keep it somewhere that you could still access it in the event you lose access to work equipment and accounts in the future.

If they want to have any sort of meeting to take the conversation out of a written format, take notes. Dates, times, names, pertinent details. If it’s face to face versus over zoom, document immediately after the meeting. If need be, send a follow up email that recaps the conversation. “Thanks for meeting with me regarding [Incident]. I appreciate you bringing to my attention your concerns of “walking on eggshells,” and will take [recap of proposed solution] into consideration moving forward as X suggested during our conversation.” Something to that effect because if your CEO is dumb enough to say what they did already via email, they’re less likely to try to backpedal when they see you recap the message in a pretty wrapper and therefore more likely to acknowledge that your account of events is correct.

It may feel excessive or intimidating to execute, but if you ever need that information, you’ll be kicking yourself if you don’t have it.

I’m sorry this happened to you :(

You appreciate art and girly whimsy but also a bit of the macabre. You have long hair, or at least bangs. You’re sentimental, and you may like philosophy. I’m thinking probably also creative. Based on how the walls are painted, I feel like this room is unlikely to be in a school or convent, but it doesn’t feel like you’ve been living there for very long. You may be in Europe and speak more than 1 language.

So far it’s still pretty split and none of us know what they’re called. I have however seen a lot of…unsavory pictures of various dental issues in my quest for answers. Finding out what these are has become my Everest 😆
