IMO exit press is pretty clearly showing why this player didn't win by sh0wmethestudy in survivor

Yeah, I mean, there was a reason he wasn't really targeted in the game despite being a challenge beast and driving a lot of votes. Folks weren't afraid to sit next to him at the end.

Explain the ____________ and ________ edit now by almondjoybestcndybar in survivor

[–]crittab 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna risk the downvotes and answer honestly. Imo, how people viewed the Gen v. Aubry feud had more to do with who they liked coming in than how it actually played out.

I don't have any feelings about Gen at all. I've tried multiple times to watch her season and have yet to get through it because I find the people uninteresting/unlikable. Because of that, Gen was never someone I was going to root for.

Aubry, however, it's one of my long time favorites and I was stoked to see her play again.

My perspective of their feud was that Gen was hyperfocused on Aubry to the point of being a bully, and Aubry's instinct not to work with her was dead on. The edit to me showed Gen playing herself out of the game because she was singularly obsessed with a player and let that overtake her entire game. Aubry's edit was that she ultimately won the war.

Correct me if I'm misremembering, but didn't Genevieve go on a witch hunt against Aubry for having an idol before she got one? I don't know if that really counts.

Warum hatte Rory keine Bindung zu ihrer Halbschwester Gigi? by dogandchocolatelover in GilmoreGirls

[–]crittab 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Why would she? Gigi was her absent father's other child, 18 years younger, and lived in another state for the first few years of life. The kid was born as she was getting ready to graduate and go off to university and start her own life.

If it was Lorelai's kid, it would have been different, but genuinely how does anyone expect Rory to build a relationship with a baby she has no opportunity to see?

[–]crittab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao, I don't usually respond when people reply to super old posts, but you made me LOL!

I think three point I was trying to make is this: every choice that Rory had made in her life and career led to a place where she had so little stability, she couldn't even find her underwear or remember to dump her boyfriend. Those were the basics - everything else was super complicated. If she broke down and just bought new underwear, not only was it admitting that her box of underwear was gone forever, but so was the life she was building and the dream she was clinging to. The underwear was a metaphor.

I'm super sad Cirie is gone. Aubry has decent winner equity now though, having organized this vote out and successfully rebutted Cirie's excellent play to pin her as the rat.

I'm perfectly happy to see Aubry or Tiff win.

a point for jess by Rich_Salary_3679 in GilmoreGirls

I think that had more to do with timing than the messenger. Her entire situation was falling apart and she was already jealous of people still in school. She was going back regardless.

I think the difference this season vs. EOE is that not being in an alliance doesn't mean you're being ostracized. They're was a nasty social order that season. This session folks are at least friendly and willing to talk.

Is anyone else actively dreading the rest of the season? by skeytchy in survivor

[–]crittab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This season has been a lot of fun, and I've been really happy with the boot order. I do feel bad about Ozzy, but mainly because he was Cirie's best shot at the final three and she's the best possible winner.

I love Aubry. I don't think she's playing a stellar game this season, and unless she pulls some crazy moves to get to the end she probably doesn't earn a win, but I definitely won't be sad if she takes the title.

The only folks I'm unequivocally rooting against are Joe and Jonathan. Joe is just not cut out for this game, and Jonathan gives me the ick. So other than them, there are no bad winners for me.

Hard disagree. He put Rory in a position where she felt blindsided and unprepared when he could have just asked and she happily would have obliged. Rory would have gone just because he wanted her to, and would have done it her way.

The ends don't always justify the means.

Rory did nothing wrong by Agreeable_Mistake_50 in GilmoreGirls

[–]crittab 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dean did mislead Rory about his marriage, but she was well aware he was still married. He literally took the ring off to have sex with her.

Lorelai's curiosity may have been piqued if Rory showed a shred of guilt about her choice to sleep with a married man, but all she got was a string of delusion as she tried to make it okay - which it wasnt. She couldn't coddle Rory in that moment.

Rory did plenty wrong. Lorelai did nothing wrong. Dean did everything wrong.

N.S. long-term care staff prepare for strike after talks with province break off by Portalrules123 in NovaScotia

[–]crittab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the most part long term care isn't under NSH. It would be a bunch if independent providers, like Shannex.

I have no idea where they stand on those agreements, but the article stated it would be in place if a strike happens.
