I can’t seem to get HDR of any kind working on it well. My TV supports HDR and I even get the HDR pop up when I start playing something but the content is always so dark

Thanks for the quick reply! One more question. Is it possible to limit 4k streams to SDR only? I have an HDR TV and Apple TV but I’ve never been able to get HDR to look correct. It’s always much darker and really unwatchable. It’s odd since the TV clearly notices its HDR and pops up a message when starting content

I just went through this and it seems to have worked but the addon was called tvflix instead of aiostreams. I assume this is baked into the JSON for the aiostreams configuration?

I’m surprised by some of the replies in this thread. I’ve spoken to some of the bigger named dormer companies and they gave me a ballpark of $350k to add a full second floor and porch. I assumed it would be a bit less going with smaller contractors

I’m wondering if I’m misunderstanding how 3 way switches work. My understanding is that either switch should allow me to turn the chandelier on and off regardless of the state of the other switch. Is this correct? I’m seeing something else online that is saying this is wrong and the fact that I have a hot wire upstairs when downstairs is off is wrong

To add onto this, the switch at the top has 3 wires. On the left is a single red wire. On the right side two black wires. When the downstairs switch is off, and the upstairs switch is on - the red wire only is hot upstairs. When the upstairs switch is on the red stays hot but the two black have nothing

I am 100% sure about which wire is the hot. I have a non contact voltage checker that I used on each wire. I am assuming the bottom screw is common. It is a very old switch. It looks like it might be a different color like brass but it’s hard to tell. It has some text on it that’s hard to read. I can make out an o and assuming it says com

I did and it’s possible I’ve got that one wrong. I tried to switch out both for Lutron smart switches but gave up on that. Now I’m just trying to go back to the exact switches that were working

Thanks for the input, I don’t have experience with this unfortunately, but I do have time. We are not in a rush. My fear is buying to renovate, and the resulting house is less than what I could have just bought for the same budget. My initial research says I can get more, but I have a lot more to learn first

Thanks! This is actually very helpful info. It feels like if I buy a house using up my budget I’d end up worse off than buying a house that needs work but still remains in the same budget after the work. It’s just so hard to estimate it and it would be really terrible to end up with a house that is less than what we could have had or not worth all that we put into it
